I had one leak and changed to a compression fitting and it stopped.

If you got to 300 psi with a blip I wonder if mine is messed up somewhere, but man she runs good though!!!

The 400 is a good engine. Is it stock? What is the gear ratio in the rears?

No it's far from stock, 10 button, 10 thin shims on spring, aneroid backed out as far as possible, fuel screw backed out 6 turns and ht4c turbo. Max pyro is 1000* pulling 7-8% grade at 100k gross(I haul wood chips) it runs pretty good for a dinosaur!!!!

No I think yours is prolly right on, I'm running a "00" button and my throttle screw is almost all the way out. I'm pretty sure I'm at the limits of what the 3/4" gear pump can push at least with the injectors I'm running.

Yeah the more i thought about it, i assumed the same thing, gonna try those hot factory injectors and see what happens. I got the serial number for a twin turbo 475 BC3 so i think im gonna try and get the piping and such to twin the old hag!!

Good luck with that, I have been on the hunt for a manifold off a TT for quite a while, it uses a different turbo pedestal and would open up my turbo options quite a bit. Unfortunately it is no longer made, and even the aftermarket ones use the reverse rotation bolt pattern.

Also some of the actual tubing from cummins is unbelievably expensive. The last piece I priced was just the crossover tube was $1100. I can build something a few times and still not have that amount of money in it.

On the injectors you may have to pull some fuel back out of it on the pump to keep it driveable, when I first switched my T600 over it still had a sealed pump on it and I swear there was at least a 100hp difference in just changing the injectors.

Yeah that was kinda my feeling also on the twins, i know i can build it, just need a 5 series and a 26cm HT3B and i will have all the air i will need.

I was told that i would have to back it down a hair if i went with them. I found aftermarket versions for 49.00 each.

Man the Memories of a Big Cam. Had the 444XT in an 88 IH 9300 that was rebuilt to be a Striped Arse Ape of an Engine. Here was the Setup of the Truck Before the Overhaul. 444 with a couple Pump Mods already as she would pull like a Beast BEFORE. 13 Double Over Eaton Fuller Tranny with a .5 Top Gear and 3.55 Rears on 11R24.5 Rubber. I could not Use 13th unless I was doing 75 Plus. Reason why she was made into the Truck she became my mom had a Heart Attack and I melted her down getting home and the Turbo Slagged on me took out a couple Pistons and a few other things. Bossman rebuilt her and did it right. He still has the Dyno run we did after the O/H that shows 720 to the Ground with Fuel and Turbo Pressure LEFT to go when the DYNO SNAPPED. Crank power was estimated when that broke at 850. We think she has over 1000 HP at the crank.

She is STILL Running like that over 15 years later for a local Farmer that bought her and he uses her to haul grain with her. You want to talk a truck that makes a driver go WHEE she was one. Fastest I ever had her was when my mother was in the Hospital with 2 ISPs as escorts as I think the Boss said either you bring him home or your going to be Chasing him home. Lets just say the Cops could not have stayed with her Before the O/H 75MPH was only 1400 RPM and she topped out at 2200 and was gaining roughly 10 MPH per 100.

After the O/H I had to laugh Foreman of the shop dumped the clutch to move her and in 2nd gear Floored it with a trailer he made the Driveshaft a Pretzel on that one. Old Rose would get 6 MPG on a normal run 4 if I needed to Haul the Mail so to speak. Like the Night I went 8 Hours Streator IL to Ferdonia NY Total Time. Man I miss that Old Truck except if I want a Ride in her I know the Farmer and he will let me ride in her at anytime on a Grain Run.
