AG 100 is totally different. It can't be upgraded like the 200. You replace bushings, and the torsion/sway bars if worn at the bushing mounts, and the torque rods on top of the axle.
If the bushings have been worn too much for too long, the trunion, or complete center section, will need replacing, as the torsion bars will wear into the trunion.
How to tell if a AG200 has been updated?

So youre saying as long as you keep the ag 100 bushings in good shape its ok. Id have to say it has to be better than that setup in the picture of the ag 200.

The AG 100 was used for many years. The bushings and torque arms need to be checked fairly often for wear. You don't want to have to replace the whole trunion because of a $25.00 bushing.

So, in the end, the AG 400 is the way to go for highway/interstate operation??? Back in the day, I drove a 81 K100 that had the AG 100, and it didn't feel too bad, but obviously evolution must be considered...

Zombie thread. Cool.
We have an AG100 (2001), and three AG400's (1998, 2005, 200eight. The 1998 used to be a 200 but a local shop upgraded it to 400.
1. Personally I think the 200's are complete junk.
2. I think the 100's ride the best but you do have to replace those bushings...not a big deal but still.
3. When you get the upgrade kit, you get the 46,000 lb torsion bars, which are slightly larger in diameter than the 40,000 bars. I tried to get the 40K bars but I could not...not an option. Perhaps this is why I find the 400 rides rougher than the 100.
4. I have heard...not been able to confirm it though...that KW had a TSB to increase diameter of air lines or something that makes it ride better. I wish I could get the real story on that. -
The AG100 was not an option in 2001, and the AG100 rides the worst of them all!! I have one.... I drove a 98 AG400, rides way better, more movement up and down

I got my ag200 to ag400 upgrade all figured out shortly after my last post .... And I got it all done on my own for under about $800 bucks ..... 400 for used like new torsion bars from salvage yard ... No rust and no wear $150 for new poly bushings $150 for alignment and less then $100 for new nuts and bolts ...... Easy to do in your driveway for me anyways

Well I'm not sure what to tell you. I have a 2001 T2000 KW with a AG100 under it. Last 6 are 963618. We bought that truck from the finance company in late 2001 so I doubt if it was converted to a AG100. I think it must have been an option.
I disagree. -
I have a 2003 with the AG100 under it.rank Thanks this.
