Frogmeister, I really hope that what you wrote about running on your 10 hr break is somehow worded incorrectly. It is out and out illegal and with the electronic logs, there's is no way around having a logbook violation.

read that very carefully, he means only being shut down for 10 hours, and running hard, not 11 or 12 hours.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

LOL, ok, I see that now. Thanks. That was the way Hubby always did, and during my training phase we always did the minimum 8 hour, so I didn't think of it that way. I know there are a lot of drivers that prefer to run 8-9 hrs then shut down for 12-14.
Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -
It kills me where some people get there info on here.
I was reading a post on here I think it was page 1 or 2 where this dude said it doesn't matter how long you have drove before if you haven't drove in 2 months you have to take a refresher course again. Lol
Thats the craziest thing I have heard on here ever. Wow
That dude really need to do his homework
I can see if he said going through with a trainer again then yea thats true -
that info was posted like 3 years ago stevens has changed policies a few times in the 6 months ive been here so you cant take as gospel somethimg posted that long ago

on my truck the Student does NOT drive until they can trip plan with pencil, paper, and the Atlas. Sometimes it takes a few days but id rather not have to ask if you know your direction of travel. Trip planning is a simple formula, not a science. 5hrs @ 50mph avg = 250mles = what are you doing? F?/RSTOP?/8BRK?..... pick 2-3 routes and tell me the shortest and ill check it, if you get it wrong..... Start over. I'd rather put
out a well trained student than someone who thinks I'm a "cool" guy.TLeaHeart, TRKRSHONEY, Dryver and 1 other person Thank this. -
sorry, but insurance runs trucking, and if you are out of trucking for even a short period of time, the insurance company requires you to take a refresher course. Over a year, full refresher course, shorter periods of time, require shorter refreshers. Also depends on the attitude of the driver.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

TL, Are you standing in the middle of a river typing on your droid? Catch anything yet?
-
That's what I'm talking about, your a trainer who cares about making sure the student knows what he is doing. I'm all for that. The only downside to that is if you get someone who can't catch on faster than the other guy, cause reading a map for the first time and computing numbers with it can be confusing sometimes, that means the training may take 45-50 days instead of the 35 days. But I like trainers like you. -
not yet, had to move my life out of storage first, into a "home"... about done with that, and where I go fishing the internet does not work. or phone service. Besides I had to dig to find my fishing gear.Rattlebunny and TRKRSHONEY Thank this.
