I am not saying that we want to take the truck home for 2 week vacations or anything like that, we basically like to come home for at least 7 days after being out for 5 - 6 weeks...we cannot survive ourselves if we stay home any longer...~smiles~ Hey I understand that they need the trucks to keep earning...I was just repeating what the recruiter told us and she was pretty adament about it...we just like to be able to stay home as long as necessary to do the things we have to do with no pressure....

    Thanks for your reply...

    Stay safe.

Well....I have a new update. Goodbye CRST...hello Interstate! I am so happy with our decision to go to Interstate instead. I have heard so many good things about IDC. I am now really excited. Turns out the pay is better as well, but that is not the only factor. The best is that they let us train together and we can have our pet with us once we get in our own truck. (CRST let us do that too, but CRE would not).

We are starting after the holidays. Can't wait to get going. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my chest now that we have decided to go with IDC instead of CRST. We don't have a lot of high expectations but IDC sounds way better than CRST. I am glad that I came to this board and sought feedback or I would not have ever even known about Interstate. Thank you everyone!!!:biggrin_25514:

Hey Sassy.. I think you made a great decision! No company is perfect, thats for absolute sure, but we have very few complaints after a year and a half. Good Luck!

Rest assured you wont have to leave your truck in Lebanon for 7 days off. Our trainer took 10 days off in Houston and was allowed to keep the truck at home. We took 5 days off in Orlando.. no questions. Our trainer's son (new driver) took 10 days off and took the truck home.

We live too far away from a terminal to leave the truck for such a short period of time and the head of driver development was the one that assured me of this. Even those who live close to terminals and leave their trucks keep their trucks. They are not touched while your on vacation unless its for an extended period of time and trucks become extremely short.

Thanks for the info, I just wish the recruiter had mentioned this as it may have made the difference- we told her that we would like to be home for a little longer than the 6 days and she said that we could but would have to leave the truck in TN etc..... Well it is pretty irrelevant now as we have gone with another company and start orientation straight after thanksgiving.

I would like to thank you for all the helpful information that you have passed on, it is much appreciated...if for some reason this company does not work out then perhaps we may take another look at Interstate...

    Take care :biggrin_25519:
