Be prepared to be used and abused from what I'm gathering. I too am a week and a half from finishing cdl school and the more I read these forums the more I think I would be better off as a pack mule for a construction outfit.

It`s not just TMC, many other drivers face the same situation. It`s not fair, but keeps you moving. Try and grab some food and what you need on way to shipper. Prepare for a 10 there just in case. Sometimes waiting on a shower sucks. but usually you can snag one on way to con.

Yes it sucks. It doesn`t always work that way. but it can get you caught up when your week starts getting behind. It`s a tough job at times.

If you try it some when needed you will find your hometime increase dramaticaly:biggrin_2554:

Got to find a way to stay caught up despite detention. Take the time between empty and shipper to "handle your biznes" but try and get there asap

Even a blind dog can overcome :yes2557:

you did the right thing!! Sadly its not just TMC that expects this crap and they will keep expecting this crap because some "drivers" will keep doing it.

blind dog this is trucking. very few dispatchers today have actually driven. i can see where u are coming from but as well as where the dispatcher is coming from. with the way the industry is now days; it's all about time management, sad to say but true. but, also remember this, to that dispatcher ur NOTHING but a SEAT COVER, WARM BODY in a truck, THAT'S IT!!!! so take care of u first cause if u don't, no one will & if they want that load that bad @ noon, then they'll really want it after that. just sayin

I am considering giving TMC a call, and was wondering what you season fbers think of going flat-bedding on the later part of September. I have 6 years driving experience, none flat-bedding, so I would only need securement training... Any of you TMC guys on the line haul position? Your opinions would be appreciated it...
