Well I am not smart, nor do I have any degrees. no nothing about electrical or engineering, but I did stay at a holiday inn once.:biggrin_25522: sorry if my humor was offensive. just always in a good mood, looking to laugh & sometimes make fun of things, only in fun though. :biggrin_25514:

No degrees of any kind here. Just interested in learning stuff.

I thought the idea behind the capacitors was to give the starter an extra 'oomph' current-wise during the initial start (when a motor draws most current), the batteries still being needed to provide constant current once the capacitor was drained. This would allegedly increase the life of starting batteries. Things must've changed in capacitor design if they're talking about replacing one or more batteries with capacitors.

Expense-wise, i can't see the cost being worth it.

    Agree with you, MA.

Haven't followed-up on getting more info yet. Not sure if I can live with the thought of ONE battery (if that were even feasible), so I'm not going to see any weight savings. I'm in the south all the time, so if these things are better for starts in the cold, that may be a little help now-and-then, but probably not enough for me to justify the cost and more wiring to be done. Still sounds like a good idea, but just too much money;at least for the time, maybe cheaper in the furture?

No I do not work for Conway. I work in a dealership. I don't know much about them but I know they are expensive.
