Delivered in chesterfield, mo this after noon and picked up a load in maryland heights,mo
At the shipper ran into another roehl driver with a new, As he called it crapcadia.
Said the battery powered ac is worthless. So he idles all the time ;-)
He said he starts the trk and hits the engine over ride switch twice and
It idles all night. Another happy driver ( NOT ) !!!! I noticed he kept saying he
Wished he had a apu like I have on the ole pink freghtshaker, sadly I
Said they will all be gone in a year. I hope it takes a long time before all gone.

I have had no problem with my battery in my new Cascadia. I run the A/C all night with the fan on low and the temp set about medium cold. I have never had the batteries die and it gets cold enough to hang meat in my sleeper. To keep it cool, you have to keep the sleeper curtains closed. Also, it takes about 8 hours of driving to get a full charge on the batteries. When it's hot like it is now, (106 in southern Iowa), I idle the truck until I goto sleep. Of course, I went from an old International (6979), with no apu, to this truck with the battery pack I never got to experience the luxury of an apu.

i have a two-bunk deathstar, and the factory curtains don't meet in the middle, leaving a four-inch gap. no other curtains are available, so the sleeper curtain option is less efficient. when i have a full charge, i get about 4 hours on the lower fan settings. the autostart runs twice every night for about an hour each time.

i just don't play the game anymore. my over-idle generally runs about 40 to 50 percent at the end of the week. currently it's 56.42%.

when i had an apu, my over-idle was always less than 1 percent.

At the Petro in Glade Spring, VA. Despite having 44,000 lbs on I was still able to hammer out 620 miles on 81. I will miss the old Freightliner when they finally take her away from us. Of course I have already told my FM the day they drop a 2013 or newer truck in our rotation will be the day I walk away from Roehl as I refuse to drive a truck with the sensor on front and yes she was surprised when I said that. Some of you may think this is a silly reason to leave but in the end it comes down to a trust issue with me.

Hated that sensor, it made my cruise useless.

I agree with you. I can't blame you one bit. I hate the sensor, I hardly use my cruise because of it. I definitely agree that its a trust issue. Their are a lot of companies that use them now. I believe if you have more than 6 months experience then they do NOT need to put one on your truck.

I agree bro. I hardly use cruise anymore.

We got the truck back from the dealer about an hour ago. Diagnosis this time was a clogged DPF filter, DPF filter injector was not working and some sensor that has to do with it. It had recorded 21 different codes in the 330 miles from Vegas. Some of the codes pointed to a catastrophic wiring issue or ECM failure. The dealer is saying that the filter not working would have caused all of that so we'll cross our fingers and hope. They couldn't pinpoint where the oil leak was coming from, but said it could be the engine had built up so much pressure that it started pushing the oil out of the back of the valve cover.

It has been a screwed up 2 weeks, but what are you going to do? Being broke down in Vegas wasn't bad but fairly expensive.... Not to mention trying to find a hotel room on a Friday night isn't easy. The first time we pulled off the road yesterday, we didn't have phone service or Qualcomm signal so we had to limp it down the road half on the shoulder. The second time when the engine shut down light came on was the same thing so we waited a half hour checked it all over and made it to a scenic pull off where we did have service and we were off the road. There was lots to look at there and alot of places to walk so I did and now have a nice sunburn to add to everything else :(

We are still in Grand Junction CO because they relayed our load out last night. We were supposed to be home today so hopefully we will get a load that will at least head us in that direction.

OK, so I was supposed to be home today. Not happening. They are trying to get a broker load for me, but two of those have already fallen through. I'm in KC and they want to route me to OK City, and then to Dallas then back home to Denver. I see a Monday mid-day getting home. That's only 4 days late. Really? Getting a little upset! If I wanted to get home on a Monday, I would ask to be home on a Monday. I asked to be home on Thursday so I would be home at least part of the weekend so I could do things with my family. I planned ahead. I guess the planners didn't. They said I was supposed to get a load out of McPherson, but it was a duplicate and didn't exist. Weird. Now, my FM isn't answering his phone so I can tell him to screw it and just run me until next Wednesday and then we will try to get back to Denver. What a mess!

I've had 2 loads of pipes out of 3 that had to be fixed and rebuilt. One was going to Cali, they made me WAIT until Monday then took me off it!! Second one was like you quoted at a TA.

Third one was 4 pieces of huge piping. Luckily 2 pieces didn't need wood, other 2 needed cradles but they built them perfectly.

When some one gets hurt because of this customers poor quality craftsmanship I will still doubt Roehl will get rid of them. Oh well what can we do besides quit? Lol.

As for me hauling a load of asphalt pipe. Was headed to Hardeeville SC. But since I got this load at 12:00p and didn't get there til 1. How am I suppose to make it there by 7:30 in the morning? Customer is a job site. His best directions were "get off at exit 5". Not even joking. That was the extent of his directions.

Since I can't make it there by their recv hours I stopped in ellenwood to get the all clear to relay this sucker!
