I've been trucking for over 25 years and have never found a need for an inverter. Unless you need a CPAP machine or breathing machine why would you? Tvs fridges etc all come in ac/dc. I've never needed a microwave either I just grocery shop accordingly. Besides unless an inverter is hooked to deep cycle batteries it can do tremendous damage to regular batteries (ask a mechanic). Certainly not a reason to turn down a job. I stay out 2 to 3 weeks at a time and I never used the storage space up in any modern truck. The problem is some of you carry to much junk with you. Clean clothes winter and summer, medications ,first aid kit a small tool kit unless you're an 0/0 and some groceries is all you need.

ok I just moved to northeast OK and company I am driving for now goes thru there occasionally cause they go to west coast, but cant give me much hometime. I hate to leave them but I need to get home for most weekends. Already talked to heartland recruiter, but is the health insurance really that bad? Having second thoughts now

It is high for family plan, and I do not believe that it covers enough. Plus has 1000 dollar deductible for adults. Children I believe are covered for just about everything though, with no deductible. For me it is just me and my wife, and was not worth it. Hers was better coverage anyway.

Does anybody know if Heartland has a dedicated customer near Commerce, GA? The reason I ask is that there is always an unusually high number of bobtail Heartland trucks always at the Flying J on I-85 exit 147. I stop there quite a bit & there are always 4 or 5 bobtails in addition to a couple with trailers. Just curious...

Since you have gotten no answer all I can do is say sorry. I have no idea. I never go down to GA. I was hoping that someone would get on here that would know the answer for you. I am guessing that we have a shipper in that area, especially with the bobtails. But do not know who it would be. And we do not have dedicated drivers on most of our lanes. Just a set few at each terminal.

I was just curious being there were so many bobtails. I didn't realize how much FedEx Heartland pulled until I started pulling it with Ozark. I see them at all of the hubs I've been to.
