Bender and Prostreet80, Thanks for all the helpful advice. I will let you know what we find out at the shop, hopefully with the things you have suggested to check, we will figure this problem out and get this truck running the way it should again. I will post what we find out after the trip to the shop this weekend.

    bender Thanks this.

If the buzzer is going off the CEL should be on also,(maybe bulb is out)it should store a code you can get later. Do you have a fuel temp wire on it?My resistor lead broke at the solder joint,no buzzer but got a CEL,I stopped right away and got the code(1-3 excessive fuel temp),took the wire off and hooked the sensor back up all was good.

I have to agree with Prostreet. It really sounds like your fuel is cutting out. I would dyno it and set dyno under load, then check fuel pressures to filter assembly, from filter assembly. I've seen filter assemblies go bad on CATs many times. The worst ones are the dd15s with their three stage filter housings. The housings have tiny check valves that are held in with small springs. Debris gets in those springs doing just as you described. You get a vacuum in the housing and key off to lose it and it runs again.

Speaking of vacuum, have you tried loosening your fuel caps to see if difference? That will rule out tank vents for that can cause the same problem. I think problem is fuel supply related and not delivery or electrical. Let us know what the tech at shop finds.

Well boys, I had white smoke roll out from under my truck and stacks this morning. It cleaned up and has been running fine. Hope I can limp home, it is running ok right now.

I only lost turbo power one time yesterday from Missouri all the way to Chicago, when it happened I turned key off and back on and it kicked right back in. It seemed to run better yesterday too, then the smoke this morning, it cleared up and seems to be running fine. When I loose my turbo power going down the road, my engine still runs just as smooth and pretty as can be. I noticed a ground wire was loose on the battery tower behind the truck where you can jump the truck without getting into the battery box, could this ground being loose cause a problem? Could any of this be related to the battery, cables, or post. Could an exhaust pipe on the back side of the turbo have anything to do with it?

The ground and hot wire on the back of the truck to jump it off shouldn't affect this problem but i would tighten it up. AS far as the down pipe behind the turbo it shouldn't either unless it was restricted you would have to have somemone put a exhaust back pressure gause in the pipe somewhere and see what the exhaust bp was. If is under 3pse or so it should be fine. The white smoke sounds like possiblly unburnt fuel and hopfully not burnng cooland but it it quit it quick its probably just some raw fuel for some reason or another.

I would start with changing your fuel filters first then go from there. I have seen them white smoke before when they are starving for fuel but this could be another problem. I still think you have a fuel problem somewhere causing all this but I could be wrong too.

Black smoke is fuel starve. White smoke is air starve as well as fuel starve. White smoke with sweet smell is coolant for certain. You are describing more of a fuel restriction. Too many clues point that way. White smoke could be from turbo not spooling from lack of fuel pressure. Truck a bottle of Diesel Klene or How's in the tanks on your trip back home and see if it pulls the gunk out. You might have algae in your lines.

I had my truck hooked up on a computer yesterday. They told me I either had a cracked head between the cylinders, or I had an injector(s) tip split and was allowing to much fuel to be dumped causing my turbo to overwork and throwing it into safty mode. The white smoke I got the first time was on start up only, then it cleaned up and I made it home. The next morning on start up only, I had black and white smoke. The truck is in the shop, I will post progress to let you guys know what we find out. Any other suggestions are still appreciated and helpful. Thanks
