Travel INTO Canada

Yeah, I heard something about a 'driver reward' override or some such nonsense...

 

I only go to the good provinces of Canada, I mean everything from Toronto west.

 

Last time I looked @ a map of Canada, Toronto was NOT a Province.....

 

He never said it was only that he goes west of TORONTO to the GOOD Provinces

 

Toronto is a city as is Kitchener, Windsor, Thunder Bay and Atiswapiskat. All of those cities are west of Toronto but they (like Toronto) are not Provinces.

Been crossing the Canadian border for 30 years. NEVER in the history of crossing the border have I or anyone I know Had good luck With Livingston as a broker. They have a 90% failure rate for PARS not on file. Unfortunatly you don't get to choose who the reciving company uses as a broker. As far as permits. The Canadian CVSE has a great web site for those. If your hauling normal freight and your tractor trailer combo is under 75 feet bumper to bumper and NOT a spread axle trailer you should be ok. Spreads are rated different In each province. Such as BC only 20,000# on the spread portion of the trailer, AB only 20,000 # period so you need to read thier regs. All you need to have is The provinces added to your IFTA and get PARs from Canadian Border Services and thier going to E Manifest like the U.S. real soon. Of which you need if you ever intend to to haul out of Canada. UPS is who I use for U.S. E. Manifest. You also need a transponder from the U.S. Border Services or pay $10.75 each time you return to the U.S. Its around $250./ year for the trasponder. The Broker I<ve had the best luck with is PCB. They take care of just about all brokers after hours and are great to work with. But as I said thats the choice of the reciving company. Hope that helps. Have a great day

I'll sum it up easier, does either side search your truck?

 

There is a POSSIBILITY that you can / will be searched entering CANADA as well as when you return to the USA.
