Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with driving an older truck. It just needs to be properly maintained. I got to know the mechanics on a first name basis at Gary,Marshfield, and Iron Mountian. When I was issued the truck... I'm not kidding you... duck tape was holding the drivers side west coast mirror on(no..not bolts). It was filthy. I made it 10 miles down the road from Marshfield...Had to turn around and limp it back into the shop. Every week there was something wrong. After 3 months of asking (and begging)for a different truck and being told no, I gave my 2 week notice. FM was sad I was leaving and asked what he could do to keep me there. I said a better truck and better planning for home time and I'll stay(usually got home a day or two later than promised for home time). Was told sorry,no can do. Students were getting the new trucks. I saw two students at Gary with brand new trucks, then 2 days later watched both students smash onto things then while backing into their docks at East St. Louis... hoods, fenders, fuel tank, and mirrors later they were each in their docks. Then two days later at Gary (because truck is in the shop again) same two students came in and each got another brand new truck. This was back in 2005 and Roehl was going through lots of changes. Hopefully its better now.

Really happy to hear about this Kash and pretty cool you went to Roehl. I commentted on the Big Blue Screw thread and I'm glad you stuck with it and continued to keep trucking.

I have actually never seen a recruiter. I filled out an online app and have been in contact with Jessica. She has been really cool and really quick in answering questions. I definitely feel that after doing a lot of research and speaking to Jessica I am making the right decision with Roehl.

Kash i hope all is well still, i figure you have no time/access while on the roadKash6972 Thanks this. -
I'm still in school at NTTS in Liverpool, NY. My last day is 1 November so hopefully within November I will get to start and meet everyone... I'm looking forward to meeting as much of the staff as possible. It's cool to meet new people and drivers. I want to do flatbed. I feel that is the best fit for me in keeping active while on the road.
