At a Kangaroo Express in Fort Payne, AL heading to Tuscaloosa in the morning to deliver. So my FM is away at a conference until Tuesday and I don't know who was watching her board today but who ever it was asked me when I planned to deliver this load. Really? If it says 0700 I guess it is 0700. Geeze it is only 320 total miles. I don't think that is going to be a problem making it. Lol!

I HATE it when they do that. My FM sends me a load and leaves me alone. Weekend/overnight or cover dispatch acts like you can't do your job. I hate that junk.

So I stopped at the new P-Lot at Exit 20 off 75 today on my to Etowah, TN to pick up this load. I go inside to scan in my paperwork and realize I forgot my receipts. I go back to the truck and get them. As I am walking back to the store I hear this scraping and popping I look over and this tractor is rocking. I say to another Driver "I think he hit the curb" and he says " Yeah, I think he did". I look back and sure enough, the bumper was all hanging down and the headlight assembly on the passenger side was ripped off and just hanging there by the wires. I actually felt bad for the guy.

My problem was that they planned me late and expected a early next day delivery. Plus the consignees window is 2.5/3 hours. I could of made it by pushing hard but a fatality in a wreck costed me 2 hours

(prayers going out to that family.) it sucks that it costed me so much time and I was pissed but I stopped to think about it, they probably was in a rush like I was. Stuff gets real, real fast out here.

My FM does the same thing sends it to me and leaves me alone. Of course this is the first time somebody actually did this to me. So I was taken a little off guard by it.

I hear ya. I was pissed when the lady covering my FM sent me a message saying i was dragging my feet. That made me mad. Thats why I like my FM, he pretty much lets me do what I want and make my own decisions. If theres a window on the load, ill be there when ever i get there. He knows that, other FM's like to micro manage, like my previous FM out of Ellenwood

Newbie here with a question. When the cons takes sooo long to unload you that you 14 is shot and they tell you to leave, and you explaine the HOS rules and regulations. They say not there problem get out or we call the police to escort you out what the @#$% are you suppose to do. They would not give me time to call overnight dispatch. I QC'd a message and never got a reply. Why are drivers treated so poorly or is this what to expect in this professon

Perks of being in a profession where almost no one likes you.

As for the whole HOS issue, you can legally go to a safe haven. However, it is always up in arms if DOT would cite you or not. Aslong as the safe haven isn't like 70 80 miles.

And yes expect more of that. Don't get upset man, it's part of it

We finally got a load yesterday afternoon and made it to Hudson CO but not without issue. The check engine light came on about 200 miles into the trip. Same codes as before but it was still able to get up over Vail & Loveland pass so we got as far as time would allow. We'll see what kind of crap today brings.
