Well a quick update - we are doing good still. Just got back in the loop from having 'home time' and got a settlement on over 5000 miles!! Woo Hoo!! Now we are going to have another home time, but this one is planned... Our Grandson is turning 1 year old!! NOT going to miss that one. However since we had several 'unplanned' home times, it will still hurt $$ wise.
I definately see where if you are solo - or have family - you do NOT want to lease - LOL! Yes others were right... I put it in print. However, if we had been company, when Klingon's mom passed, we would not have been able to bobtail from SLC to Sacramento... as L/O we did... They didn't have a load going west for 2 days!! So leasing is still the right choice for us right now...
Just wanted to drive by and wave - maybe when we are at home, and I have more time in a non-moving enviroment, I will be able to do a bit more reading and responding - miss you guys!!
Bye for now...

You should Wedge... LOVE IT!! Its a really quick way to 'update' family (and any one else interested) in what we are doing and where... Since both Klingon and I had WLS and before trucking I tried to start a small business selling WLS friendly foods - I have a LARGE number of friends from that community and they get a kick out of where we are and what we are doing - also how we are still able to maintain our 'diets' on the road... which let me tell you is NOT easy!! Still want to meet up sometime for that cup of coffee
Wedge Thanks this. -
Good to hear from you folks. Congrats and give the grandson a hug from all of us.
-
Thanks for the update(s) and good to hear things are going good. Seems the last 5 yrs 'good' is almost PERFECT.
-
It does seem like a good way to let family know what's going on with my exploits.....may have to try it. -
Well our most recent update... I'm frustrated... Due to their scheduling and some fun with a trailer, we ran our 70 up to the bare minimum... so our DM gave us time on our load out - cool - that's a good thing... recooped our time, and got our back haul - not all the way to AZ but to UT... Ok... also had time on this one. Well can't have everything, we roll with it. We get the next load - 350 D/H miles for a 880 mile load... I question it and we say please look for something else. So we get unassigned, and now we wait... I feel like we are being slapped because we didn't want a 30% D/H. We didn't take that 'new pay scale' - it would have been a pay DECREASE for us since we have/had a less than 10% D/H... so are we being penalized for not taking the new scale? for not taking a 30% D/H? I'd say yes!! Now they are guaranteeing we lose money (saying there are no loads out of UT - please!!)... at least that's how its feeling... so anyone out there reading this want a good team?? LOL! No hasn't come to that YET - but let me tell you it has been a thought running around in MY mind at least!!

Hi Guys...
Yep its been a while since I've been on here... sorry... Well we finally had it with the fleet we were on. Long story and a multitude of straws that broke these camels backs... so we will be going with a 'new' fleet - not even sure of the name of it - LOL! It is suppose to be a big circle... Rocklin, CA to Sarasota, FL then D/H to Atlanta, GA then back to Rockliin, CA... all in one week!! Woo Hoo!! Give me a darn loop - I will take it!! So that is what is new in our livesOh and our grandchild is now 1 yr old and we made it to his birthday party!!
-
Oh yeah.......Happy Birthday to your grandchild! -
Seriously?? I mean really??
We just got assigned a new fleet - the
circut one that will bring us home weekly - and how do we start out? By having
to put our truck in the shop!! OMG - what a way to make a first impression...
So we had time off for our Grand's first birthday, that was extended due
to the shop we took our truck to; and guess where we had to take our truck THIS
time?? Yep - same place I vowed to never take the truck to again... sigh... So
Friday we took it in - found out it would be at LEAST Wednesday until we got it
back (holiday weekend and all) - and if we don't have it back then, we just
might miss out on another run east and back.
There is also a bunch of
'short timers' attitude here at home. The kids are excited (and rightly so)
about their new home. With plans and dreams. We are making plans on how to keep
our home and are looking forward to being able to be here weekly; and
maintaining, cleaning and just being the way we want it. The kids are right - it
just wasn't working out the way it was before. Different focuses and
priorities.
So send prayers that they get the truck all put back together
and running tomorrow, so we can go get an empty trailer and be ready for
Friday!! Please let there be a load as well! If not - we will be in some
serious deep doo doo!!formertaxidriver and Wedge Thank this.
