too bad old companies like that aren't around no more; working for them u were treated like a person with sense & if u & ur dispatcher disagreed about something & the boss had to settle it, the driver was usually the winner; now days it's screw the driver the dispatcher is right. like i said before & i'll say again, when the dispatcher has logged 1,000,000 then i'll listen to him/her, otherwise the truck gets steered in the way i want it to go after my dispatch

I was on the Miami run for CTI leave Dalton at 2100 deliver in Miami 10 stops, deadhead back to Dalton 4 hours sleeps then do it all over again.

Silvey, thats where I cut me teeth.ole green and white binder. that was when the trailers had wheels on the dollie legs instead of pads. I forgot to roll them up one night and threw sparks all the way from the yard to dirty herbies 76 truckstop in council bluffs Ia. then I went to monfort and got an anteater I was in heaven lol.. I miss those days

Its been a long time since I heard of the "Monfort Lane". They were very popular during the early 80s. hard to remember anyones name or handle, but sure do remember that trucking was great fun back then.

What the are you doing in Houston? I still run 80 and 40. Still running a reefer, hauling produce out of Cali to Ohio and Mi, and Ky. Figure i will quit driving when they pry mny cold dead fingers off the steering wheel. Okie, is hostling trlrs for Hobby Lobby on OKC. Seems to be doing ok there. Be safe

Monforts. =)
I used to match horses with them only to discover just how easily I get my doors blown. It would be years before I acquired a proper dollar truck. But alas no more Monforts to race.
Memories is all I have left. Them old days are gone forever.skipperj, EZ Money, rocknroll81 and 3 others Thank this.
