The state has no means to judge the skills of a trainer and god forbid someone allow them to come up with the standards! Allowing the state in is asinine!

Your right, because, He would have no patience with anyone. I dont care what they would offer me too train someone, HECK NO. Too Train someone in 3-5 weeks is just Dumb. They put these new drivers out there to keep making that $6k school money rolling in. I dont care what anyone says, but you cant put someone out there, driving a truck, with 3-5 weeks training. VERY FEW, VERY FEW, will make it. Now the ones that disagree, ask the ones with 3-5 weeks training, How many Incidents, Accidents, Speeding Tickets, MORE INCIDENTS, Ect. have they had. Maintaining a PERFECT driving record, Makes you LOTS of Money, and Opens LOTS of doors.

Your right again, I feel each trainer has there own technique of teaching, and thats what makes them qualified to
teach there driving skills too the new drivers. Every veteran driver has a certain driving skill that they can pass on to the new drivers that will make them safer and better on the road. We did not learn the art of Trucking in a few years, it took our whole life time to perfect it and each day is still a challenge.

Part of the reason my belief is a clean record should be a prerequisite to being a trainer. There are people with multi-million miles of drivng that have nothing on their record. It is a mindset, and adherence to a set of principals that they used to achieve that. It is that we have to promote in this industry.

The @#!₣ happens crowd that try to explain away those bent rims, poked holes in the corners of their trailer, bent fairings............ This is not the mindset new driver should be taught.

Too think students go too college for 4 -7 years every day. And too drive a truck 3 -5 weeks or less. Now I see why the Rates are dropping. Cooperate CEO`s think were ............ ......... .

38 years ago, I started driving, and NO trainer. Taught myself. My dad, My uncle, started driving in the 50`s, and I LISTENED to them. Starting off, they said, and still remember, Think, have a procedure doing hook ups, and take it easy, SLOW, till your comfortable. These days, GO, GO, GO, you have to
have it there by ....... . This is the difference of back then, and now. They push the new drivers, hard, with no experience. It you were able to take your time, probably a different story.

I posted a few times on this subject, because, (Just me) I always hated these CDL mills, again (Just My Opinion). I would love to see every person
that would like to make Trucking a part of there life, but do not get the proper amount of time to learn Trucking. Anyone can agree or disagree, and give there opinion of this subject, thats why they have this forum for us, different ideas, procedures, experience, wanting to know, general info. I dont hold no grudge or dislikes to anyone that might have an opposite thought. I enjoy reading everyones thoughts about trucking, Thats why were here. Even after 6 months to a 100 years of trucking, we can still learn something.

If this issue is to be fixed, the only thing I'd want the regulators to enforce would be a ban on "Team Training" which is the most asinine concept ever devised. There IS no training in a Team environment! It is a means to A: Make revenue and B: make up for load planning and or performance of the fleet drivers as a whole.

I DO believe that Trainers need to be certified in a REAL training facility. Trainers need to be SCREENED and evaluated via the process and using student surveys and other means. There are a LOT of poor trainers out there who can and do ruin some pretty decent prospects.

That was my condition when I agreed to be a trainer: I would not run as a team since the student learns nothing while they're sleeping and I'm driving.
