Would you mind sharing what cam/injectors/turbo? if not thats fine, just exploring options for the right combo. the truck formerly had 58's and a B/W turbo (S4TS508-no wastegate) on a factory 550 file with the fueltemp/boost sensor mods and would do 6999 trims for pulling. ran quite strong. no real idea what it was making though. Gonna do at least an 800 cam to compliment the injectors and turbo unless maybe the 1000 is better. Im sure Mr H will chime in before too long also
    Thanks

the 1000hp cam will net a bigger power gain.

The question is really how much power do you want?

as much as can be had while still being workable. The head will come off so the cam change is a given. I know youve said they can start to lope, but thats not an iusse. What will the current injectors and turbo support? Obviously 1000hp is great on paper but is it practical. He is an owner operator (my friend from MATS and Antrims if you recall). Also if the current parts will support 800-850 does it warrant new injectors and turbo for 100-150 HP? I was thinkin with a cam and one of your tunes may be just what the doctor orderd.
doesnt run everyday. He does sled pulls through out the summer/fall though.
    thanks.
PS Mr H. will Jerry be commin to NY in september with the Posse and the Super semi's?

Looking at the schedule for his class, he won't be in NY for a pull. He told me the other day he wasn't going to any other pulls, but for the PA POSSE pulls. At the moment he is # 1 in the points for the championship and he doesn't want to take a chance of breaking something and miss a points pull by going to an different associations pulls. Here is a link to his schedule, look for the PA Posse, as it is it's own class.

The current injectors and turbo won't support a 1000 Hp.

The 1000 Hp cam and 57 injectors would be a strong runner with a good ECM tune. I don't know what turbo you're listing, but all of the S4T frames are very weak in my opinion. Will it support the 850 Hp? That depends on which wheels it has in it. Would I recommend doing it? No. This turbo frame size is a 30 year old design and has issues with a weak shaft and right hand threads on the nut, both of which will cause a major failure if you spin them hard. It may last a year or two, but it will break at some time in the future.

I may have the turbo number wrong, not sure. We'll look into the the 1000 cam with the 58's and a tune. Im sure we will be in touch for some parts:yes2557:.
I apologize about the info on the posse, just listed on the event's website as they were goin to be there.

If you want to be close to 1000hp your definitely gonna wanna go with 59 injectors or larger. Turbo should be the last thing you spec especially if you want to work the truck. The turbo will depend on how much fuel you have going to it.

Yeah. I don't think 1000hp is necessary at this time lol. Were gonna do the cam and leave the injectors, do a tune and see how it goes. I'm sure it will be a vast improvement. like I said 1000hp looks great on paper but it isn't needed at this point. The injectors and turbo can be done easily after as well as a retune if he doesnt thing it is enough. The power was good before, but if it has to come apart it only makes sense to put the better parts in while its in pieces.
    Thanks again guys

No you need to twist it as hard as you can leaving the line and slip the clutch more as you leave in a higher gear. You were against the governor for quite a distance. You want to use a gear that gives you the most speed and keeps the engine under the governor for 99% of the pull.
