I understand the view, but MOST of (not all) these locations are the largest of truckstops that rarely have a parking issue. The big petros mainly. The TA's in Ontario. I have never had a time when I pulled in and saw that all the regular parking was taken but the idleair still had spots. Never saw it. I can imagine it happening at a couple locations, but not 99% of the locations. Again, its there business also. So thats the great thing about America. You voice your opinion of their operation by your pocket book. Don't go in there at all! All I am saying is I understand the point of view on the surface, but my experiance has just not been so.

well since so many of ya are all up in arms about idleair making you move.... what about the people looking to hook up and can't because you park there and don't want there service? Tonight in nashville i couldn't find an idleair spot. now i get to idle so thanks for costing me roughly about $30 when it would have only cost me about $18.50.

The way I see it, it's their property and they should really have the say on whether or not you stay. I really feel that if it's the only spot available, they should let you stay, but if there's going to be a bunch of people that want to idle when other people pay specifically so they can enjoy the quiet, it's not fair.
Are most of these truck stops really in places where land is THAT expensive?
(BTW, this is #50...

Pretty much what I said, you just are better at short and sweet. HAHA

I can only speculate, but I believe that I am on very sound footing to state that "idling" houses and businesses contribute more pollution to the atmosphere than all the cars, trucks, and buses on the planet. So how's about we demand that all houses and businesses must shut-off their furnaces when nobody is there, or when the occupants are sleeping? -
I challenge you to find ANY non-idleair parking at the Petro in Knoxville, after 11 hours of driving at 11:30pm or later. In fact, I challenge you to find any non-idleair parking ANY time of day there, with-out having to circle the lot several times.
I travel MOSTLY east and south-east of Michigan and ALL the truckstops are too small for the amount of truck traffic. -
You want a "RESERVED" spot? Call Travelocity and make reservations at the local Holiday Hotel. Truckstops ARE and ALWAYS have been: FCFS. -
GOOD IDEA, lets move ALL the politicians (particularly; Owl Bore) up north and let THEM sleep in an unheated house a few nights. Of course; they will be protected from the wind, but cold nonetheless.

I cant think of a time when I had a problem there. Just have to walk a bit further. And even if there was a problem, TA is right across the street and closer walk then some of the Petro own spot to the Petro building. I am just saying its rare that there is a problem. I don't think thats TO controversial.

I prefer to park in the back of the lot anyway. The problem is the only NON-Idleair parking at this Petro is close to the building anyway, and these spots are usually taken right away. I usually use TA over Petro, but this night I wanted something different for dinner.
