I went to C1 in Indy; check out my thread about my experience. Ultimately tho, you gotta ask urself what direction ure heading in, do u wanna be married for a yr? Cause ure gonna b obligated to DS for better or for worse. Read on here all the various experiences ppl have had with USA & PAM, then decide what is it that u honestly want. Do u want to team? PAM. Would you prefer solo in ure first 6 months? USA. I work for PAM and u can look up my other posts and opinions about her. Good luck!

personally i would look into a tech school in your area or something else. I went to little rock c1 two years ago and got booted cuz there was a license suspension on my MVR. I called c1 and usa truck over and over and they wouldnt' tell me why they booted me. Once i got back home i called my workforce and development and ended up going to school for free through WIAA funding or somethign.Once i got my cdl i applied to shaffer and they ended up denying me. i called them and theyu told me they denied me due to the license suspension. i got it worked out and went to work for shaffer, great company. Companys like shaffer wont even consider people who go to C1. tech schools are much cheaper also. Think here in TN it was $2400 if i paid as opposed to 5 or 6 k to go to c1. i talked to a bunch of usa drivers who went that route and have some weeks wehre they majke less than $100 due to paying back the c1 money. I'm glad usa never did respond after several emails and phone calls hope that helps
purpleangel7 and airforcetoo Thank this. -
Purple, unless something changes between now and then, I'll be at C1 in Fort Wayne through DS starting Sept 10 and I'm coming up from Dayton too. ~Fergie

Hey Purpleangle7, I made it to the 3rd day had taken all my gen. knowledge, air brakes, combo, aced all of them, hazmat too, but had an issue with my blood pressure, it was too high and got sent home for Indy back to Orlando, Fl. where I live. Honestly that was crushing, got my blood pressure under control, tried and tried, called and called PAM my carrier wouln't give C1 the OK to let me return to school in Indy, No call back from PAM'S medical dept for almost 3 weeks so I did a little digging and found out that the contract for a year with PAM or any contract for school / take it out of my pay/ reduced cost for training IF they don't find a trumped up reason to let you go in the 11th month deal. Oh yea, guess what your bill for your CDL cost now 5,995.00 not 2,995.00 only if you finish the year, Please do yourself a favor, Pay for school, then pick your carrier, start your career without a leash. & more CPM.

Sorry it's me again, just wanted to say C1 is an OK school, but only 100 hour course. I started at Road Master in Orlando, Fl. 15 miles from my house and the instruction here at RM is soooo much more in depth than C1 in Indy, my instructor 35 year behind the wheel 1,000,000,000 plus no ticket/ no accident career Knows whats what AWESOME school so far. Do yourself right and google them I'm sure there is a Road Master School near you in Ohio. Think about it.

What's up with your work history, lack of work due to age or something else, only if I'm not prying in your business to much.
