Hi all,
I'm looking for a good company myself. I've looked over most of these threads, but I don't know how many of these "good" companies hire out of Wyoming. I just left Swift (after almost 2 years of service, and certified trainer), and was driving for Landstar for a month, when they terminated my lease for no reason at all. I think it had to do with the person I was buying the truck from, we started to disagree a lot. Now, I'm back in the market. Anyone know of anyone I could drive for? Maybe buy a truck from?
I'm bound and determined to OWN my own truck! JCT doesn't hire here, which upsets me.. Freymiller isn't hiring out of WY right now either. I'm lost and need direction. Thanks everyone.

Have you looked in to May Trucking Company?
If you want to buy a truck buy a truck. Why lease? -
Have you looked at Houg? I've been here almost a month and so far, so good.

Believe me, I would love to. I hate lease purchase. Why can't they all just go to a normal system where you make a set payment each month then on the last payment it's yours? I want to buy a pre 2004 KW900L but I can't afford 45k in cash. I haven't tried Houg all I've tried is Werner, SRT, Heartland Express, Dart, and JCT. Dart won't even call me back cause I'm 50 miles away from Colorado. How retarded. I'm buying a truck, so why would it matter?

Does Hoag require 2 years experience? I've got almost that, I'm only about 2 months shy of that, for total experience anyways.. 5 Months in 2008 with Central Refrigerated, 4 Months in 2010-2011 with Swift as a Company Driver, just over a year Owner Operator with Swift. I hope they'll still consider me as I have no tickets, a perfect CSA2010 score, and only 1 accident in 3 years (backing in 2008).

if you are still on the hunt give seward motor freight a call,
they might be able to set you up with something.
stevens transport might have something as well.
those are the only companies i know of that hire from WY.

My guess is because then they couldn't hose you towards the end of the lease by cutting your miles, in turn making you go broke and lose your lease, then turn around and re-lease the same truck to the next poor guy who wants to try to make it on his own. It's a vicious cycle and it only benefits one side of the equasion 95% of the time.
