Yup, blew mine empty too. Then about bought it when the kid driving for another company blew one and stopped to check it. I came down the hill and around the corner on the interstate to see him popping out from the shoulder at 10mph. Lucky there were no 4 wheelers next to me for once and I could get around him in the left lane.
Just some of the stupid things I see

I saw one of those trucks just north of Bradenton FL about 3 weeks ago. The driver lost his life in that one. Seen lots of accidents in my years, but that one was probably the worst I have ever seen.I know that the tires have been taking a huge beating with the heat and weather...
We have lost 2 heavy duty tow trucks (this is the industry in general) in Florida in the last month when the right front floats blew and the truck went off the road or overturned. This happened when they were emply !!!
Please be careful out there.Click to expand...
Front Right blew about 25-50 yards before an overpass, the truck went off the road, rode up the embankment of the the overpass, launched cab first into the the bottom of the overpass. The driver probably had less then a second to decide whether to try to steer left back on to the road, or steer right to try to go up and over the road. I would venture to guess that instinct told him to steer left.
everyone be careful out there. This heat is going to be around for a while yet.Last edited by a moderator: Jul 26, 2012

Scalemaster,if you have time, what do you think off the handy work in this thread?
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...w-drivers/184700-is-this-placard-illegal.html
BTW,driver refused to repower the load.
Would he have been in trouble if you pulled him over on your scale? -

Looks like something from the Red Green show!

Now that there is just good old fashioned pure unadulterated laziness!Scalemaster said: ↑Had a guy yesterday that was still splitting his sleeper 5/5, 6/4. That went away, when, 2004? Said his safety guy was cool with it, so what was my problem?

Another guy was pulling an intermodal container on a chassis with 3 of 4 corner locks open. The front two did not even line up with the holes. Driver said that was the railroad's responsibility to check that, he just gets paid to haul it down the road.

But you weren't in the sleeper berth were you?

There are a few states that let you run wider but not many. Some states have differant regs for farm equip. AlsoClick to expand...
Arizona is 3:00 A.M. to sunset up to 16' wide (with a pilot car till the sun comes up). Helps with beating Phoenix-Tucson curfew. Sat and Sun 3:00 A.M. till Noon.
