Hey everyone. I'm brand new here and hope to learn a lot. I've been driving hotshot here in the oil patch here of south La. for a little over 4 years after a 35 year career as a farmer. I don't exactly love 24/7/365, but it's a living and last year was pretty good to me. I recently had a pulled back doing personal stuff and I don't know if I can pass my company's lifting capabilities. I am thinking about my own authority, "if" I can secure a couple of good customers. I didn't have any customers and was the terminal's go to guy for the "contract loads". I made money because I was a hustler; I always searched for backhauls. Backhauls on the weekend with 5 or 6 S.O.'s were hell. Try and get the on-call guy to unload you at 2:00 A.M.. I am clueless on all the ins and outs of getting my authority. I have a S.A. and a minifloat and I drive both. I want to do it right. Should I hire someone to help? Thanks in advance.
