Always glad to help Lord knows lots of folks have helped me.
Be safe out there and Don't let the Minahunees get you -
Do you think I should brush up on my math skills before I get my CDL? What kind of math is needed?
Keith by the way. -
Pardon my ignorance...what is a Minahunee?
-
They're like evil Hawaiian leprechauns..... or something.
-
Simple arithmetic. just figure miles to gas to pay. no sweat.Duffield Thanks this.
-
Minahunees are Hawaiian mischievous spirits kind of like Pookas or Los Ninitos. They misdirect travelers hide things from you and in general mess with your mind.
-
You will only need simple math, Like how many miles you have to drive divided by 50 mph average, to get how long it will take for you to get there. (if you use this formula, you will have time to eat, shower, and fuel, and still be on time)
You will also have to fill in a log book, and be able to add up time spent in a day for things like sleeping. Must be 10 hours in bed.
How much time driving, can not be more than 10 hours total in 24 hours.
How much time you are in the shop, or broke down, or in the office... in a 24 hour period.
So that you can keep a legal log book.
The only time you need multiplication is when you need to know how many pounds of fuel you can add, without going over weight.
Or, how far to slide your tandams to change your weight.
Subtraction, for how much weight a shipper needs to take off, so you are not over weight. -
They sound evil! How does one ward off minahunees? (Not that I'm superstitious, or anything!)
-
The Hawaiian miinahunees are not really evil. They are tricksters. Smile. They love to hid things from you. Just get ready to HUNT stuff in your truck. If you do not have a place for everything, they will laugh at you while you hunt your stuff.
