See, told you that you would be fine. Now you gotta really pay attention. You might get a trainer that hauls nothing but glass, you're gonna need good notes for the flatbed stuff. It might be awhile between now and your first eye to the side coil.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

I made it to Melinium steel and there was only one truck in the line. We both got into the building as soon as I had all of my tarps and chains secured...except for the two that I left on it of course :)
Got unloaded very quickly...put in my mt call and pulled outside to put my boards away. By the time I had my boards put away, I had a wo to go to SDI in Jeffersonville to get 4 coils which turned out top be skidded.
There were several other trucks there....a few mavericks...one right in front of me.
When I got loaded I pulled around to the front and parked next to the mav that was in front of me. He had all of his chains run over his coils. I proceeded in my usual pace. When I started tightening down my over easy binders...he yells..." Hey you are not supposed to be in front of me. I said what are you talking about. He says " You know what I mean...I said...seriously....I do not...he says you are already tightening your binders. I just laughed and went on. When I was starting to bungie my tarp...he was still working on his chains...He says..." Who lit a fire under you? I said no one...I always work at this pace.

When I was finished I went over and helped him roll out his tarp.
This load is going ot Ephrata Pa. The bol was different from the wo so I called the customer and found out they wanted it at the bol address....so I notified my fm.
I made it to the last rest area in Ohio...same place I stayed last week...made it there by 2030.
The consignee was an amish place that you had to pull way down and unload and then you had to back up most of the way and do a hard ally dock and then pull out.
There was no place to stay so I went down to the main highway and pulled off in a gravel area.
I got my next load at 1345 going to Magnesita Refractrories 37 miles away....guess who will be late.
Got there and had to go down into another part of the plant to pick up this mold that was 102 inches wide. Because a contractror pulled in down below me I had a heck of a time getting turned around with all of their junk in the way. Got loaded and made it up to the Pilot in Breezewood pa with about 25 mintues to spare. Got rolling this morning and in order to make the cut off at 1400 I had to go the speed limit the entire way....this load went to sdi in Ghent Ky.
Had to go back to the melt section of the plant. Got the refractories unloaded outside and then had to back into this nasty dark, dusty melting area.
I got in there but did not know where exactly to go. When I got out I was standing in sludge.
I went over and asked a guy sweeping up the dust and he said he was not sure, but no one had ever backed in that far...lol So I pulled up a bit and they finally came and unloaded me. I found out that you can unload up until 2300. So I killed my fuel mileage for nothing.
In fairness to Maverick, it stated the 1400 cut off on the bol as well...so the shippper told us that time.
Got a load to pick up tomorrow at Precision Strip in Middletown going to Wayne MI tomorrow.
Made it to the truck stop at Monroe..

Also, remember when working in the heat, use an umbrella, then go sit in the library and do not drink alchol nor leave your children in the truck!
