When LTM are available you will get an annoucement on the Dock. If you got a 720, then you got the latest maps available.

    Thanks,
    Mark

is there a fix for the power connection, this is the second time that my connection has become loose and that I am unable to charge the unit, the first time they sent a refurbished unit but now its been a year since i purchased the unit, 6 mos since the replacement was sent. I have no pressure on the cord as I wrap it around the base several times, run about 12 inches from that to the unit and I don't keep anything on my dash so I don't know how to keep this from happening. I do unplug it weekly to take home/update. At a loss on what to do.

I have to admit. I'm as nervous as a L O N G tailed cat at a rocking chair convention because that was what killed my Garmin. That type of power port needs to go. I do the same thing as far as making sure there is NO WAY the outlet/cord will ever get tugged on. I have mine looped through the mount bracket so if the cord get yanked it stops at the bracket and not the USB. I think the USB should be for the updates etc. Maybe a mini phono click in type plug for the power or better yet make the DC connection permanent.

Why does the 510 no longer give the notice of a weigh station approaching? This starting happening to a friend of mine after the last update

I bought a 720 three days ago. It worked fine the first day. The second day it started only displaying the north up view when the turn was far away. I have to wait until the range is very short, under 50 miles say, then actually place it in north view for a few minutes then I can switch back to 3D view. Is this a software problem or is my unit defective? It also stopped giving the audio warning for speed at about the same time.

Is anyone else having issues like this?

That is a setting. Go to Main Menu - Preferences - Map Auto Zoom.

You tell it whether you want it to automatically zoom way out to the next turn and automatically zoom in slowly. If you are in the 3D view and you zoom out far enough either manually or with the "auto zoom" feature turned on, it will switch to 2D view until you zoom back into the 3D view threshold.

Also, the "North Up, Heading up, or 3D views are selectable by pressing the direction of travel (N, S, E, W) button just to the left of the Main Menu button in the lower right corner of the navigation screen.

This and about 100 other features are shown in the full user guide here: http://www.randmcnally.com/support/documents/tridion/pdf/TND_720_User_Manual_HR.pdf
