Wtf...yea that is strange, very strange

 

They do a background check and a credit check. Maybe they didn't like one of those.

 

They didn't do the background check, they have to call you in after they chose you and have you sign a release to allow them to start the background check. My background is absolutely spotless. Oh they never called my ex employers so i know they didn't start the background check. They would of informed me they started the background check.

 

still weird...its like waste companies are hard as hell to get into

 

Oh its weird, I mean the guy gave me all the vibes of "your hired". i have never been more confident in my life walking out of an interview, I mean never. Dam i wanted that job too, bad.

 

Does anyone know if they give you a hairtest as part of the pre-employmeny criteria?

 

I would assume they do, as its the best way to tell if someone was on drugs in the recent past.

 

Ive been with republic for a while now and yes they require hair test.

 

Start off at a municipality. I currently drive a garbage truck for my. City I live in. And it's easy. I have two helpers and all I do is drive. It doesn't pay as much as allied but it's a good job to get your expierence. I get 11.33 an hour and I get paid for 40 hours no matter how much I work. Even if I finish my routes early and only work 30 I still get 40. Most municipalitys give you the weekends off. I also started with zero driving exp. I started out as a ground crew and a friend of mine let me take my cdl road test in his garbage truck and they hired me after 2 weeks.

 

I just had an interview for a residential driver out of the scottdale pa location and they start out at 130.28 a day and then 139.59 after 90 days. Its also union 66 they told me 5 mon-fri occasional saturday because of a major holiday of course, or an extra clean-up on saturday. I guess your pay depends on you and truck maintenance whether you make decent money.
