13'5" wide, 14' high, and New Jersey routed me and my pilot right into a 13'6" railroad bridge. We had a lot of fun wiggling through some residential hoods trying to get back on route.

Don't try to take a high cube through the Eisenhour tunnel on I-70 west of Denver. It's really embarrassing when that siren goes off, the lights start flashing, and then the highway guy comes out and rips you a new one!:biggrin_2552: Of course it would be even more embarrassing if they didn't have all those bells and whistles and you got part way through the tunnel. . .

Another reason to not drive when you are extremely tired and/or sick. . .:biggrin_25512:

No gps, looking at a street map via google maps and make my own route. Of course it showed the turn i had to make BEFORE the bridge, not under it.

Ive moved on to doing local ltl work with New Century. Now my one TMC truck woulda been great, 11'5" at the stacks

I got one better I had to pickup a trailer in Texas and the number was screwed dark didn't pay attention to height headed to Alabama with a 14ft trailer when daylight hit and I saw it I called they just said go with it you reported it. I felt sorry for the next guy though because they were not legal out there. one of them rookie things live and learn. I did write on it that it was 14 ft by the glad hands for the next guy

I always stop at the Walmart or behind the Golden Corral for lunch there when I rolled through. After taking a break, got on going east as if nothing happened.

No way am I driving that far out of route to hit a scale when there's one up by Shiprock.

Out of Durango, that is much shorter. But, US550 isn't for anything longer than 48' trailers, although 53's take it all the time and generally don't get caught. Even called the scale in Shiprock one time to ask them and was told "Well, a lot of 53' footers take it, but the're not supposed to." Just wait until NM needs some money, they'll know where to find it.

i went up there with a 13.5 load that had wrapping blowing in the wind. needless to say, i got the lights and noise.

there's no signs on the 550. there's nothing to enforce. and the scale in shiprock is permantly closed. fenced off. and weeds growing.

been there ! Orlando, FL delivered to a new Walgreens store. It was 13' 9" on the northbound going in and 13' 4" on the southbound going out. Bad news is I had an agressive 4 wheeler behind me who smacked into my DOT bumper so after the cops got me backed up and out of there had to fill out an accident report.
