Recently back in the midwest after doing a west coast trip (GA to OR, then CA to IN). Now at the Marshfield mothership for a safety meeting today and a reset until Sunday morning.

In neenah. Going to reset then head towards Iowa on Sunday sometime. Don't have to deliver until 1200 on Monday. Dispatch said it is an appointment time and early is not ok. Crappy weekend.

Asphalt shingles, wrapped in plastic, don't need to be tarped. wood shingles, wrapped in paper, do need to be tarped, because they haven't been treated or sealed yet, is my understanding. Since Roehl never knows what kinds of shingles are going, they err on the side of caution, and say they all have to be tarped. and leave it to you to decide. Historically, all you need to do is give your FM a call or a QC, point out shipper said no tarp, and that will be the end of it. until my last FM.. who insisted I find someone in management to write on there "NO TARP" and sign and print their name, or else, I'm tarping it. because the dispatch says tarp it. so we tarp it. because it said it's a tarp load.

I hear ya. From now on If I don't think its something that needs to be tarped I'll be calling the customer. Thanks for the input though definitely

Nothing in my mind ever needs to be tarped. But that is never my choice. Oh hey go pick up this load of palletized bags that have plastic, Saran wrap, and more plastic on them to prevent them from getting wet and then tarp. Oh what there's 4 trucks that got the same stuff going to the same place that didn't tarp? Oh well mista you must tarp.

Sorry. I have tonight and entire day tomorrow to sit here for a Monday deliver so I am pretty bored

Lol. I made it to West Memphis, at the loves. Gonna fuel up at the sky hook, that way I get a shower tomorrow night at the pilot that's 5 miles from my customer.

I'm 6 hours away so imma get there at 2pm and chill for a 0630 delivery.

I don't mind tarping, but if it doesn't need to be tarped, then I'm wasting a minimum of an hour to do it.
