My point, doing math in trucking is only good if your fuel gauge ain't working.

Using the highest row of D rings you can reach for your bungees will reduce those side airpockets. I often use my winch bar to put the bungees up high. They come back off with just a flip of the wrist, or just pull and release the bottom hook and it will fly off.

I need to get some longer tarp straps. The ones I have seem to be very short.

Get some 21''. They are good for tall loads and smoke tarps, pretty durable but unhealthy for a wallet. But, they'll pay for themselves. Careful, when they snap, do they snap!

A cracked bungee is still good, use'em til they snap! Be sure to harvest hooks when one snaps, they are pretty handy if you find yourself needing a hook.

But be carefull because when they snap they can cause a lot of damge to your face...

In fact snapping bungies are a good reason to wear safety glasses. I got a small scar in my face and nearly lost an eye...

When you pull on your tarp straps try to pull straight down so your not pulling them towards your face, sucks to get hit in the face with those darn things...

    Yep I know...

But sometimes you don't pull down but sidewards, or the bungee is just a little to short, needs to have a little more...

    BANG..!!

There you go... Just be carefull...

Malone has company drivers in Rockport In Alcoa Tn and Eldridge Ia to service the Alcoa account. CRST calls them dedicated drivers or at least they used to ,that is the biggest lie they tell. I was at a meeting in Coraoplis Pa in 1996 after they took over George Transfer and that redd haired guy from from birmingham said (Dave Rusch) was his name if I reemember correctlysaid the company was about 97 percent owner operator and lease purchase and he felt that was close enough to 100 percent. Kind of like being 97 percent pregnant I guess. I am not bashing Crst but they are not always honest. By the way when then say they have driver s for 20 to 30 years not all that time was with them they came from outfits CRST has bought up. LIke Malone ,George Transfer and Champion to name a few. Actually the flatbed part of CRST runs under these different names Malone Frieght Lines CRST-Malone and CRST flatbed depending on what day of the week it is. They do have company drivers rest assured of that but no one will admit it.Good luck in your new venture Grave

Always pull the bungees DOWN thru the rubrail and away from your face. Trust me, I've had several snap on me and have never been hit by one, and by going thru the rubrail it also stops your hand from getting smacked too ;)

I use the snapped strap hooks to hold the chains doubled up in the rack. Makes them more compact for carrying and storage.
