I haven't posted since 04/12 but reading about "moving on" to somewhere else
only seems to be an option if you are willing to get somebody interested in your tallent
before you leave. I made that mistake on January 12 of this year when I got fed up and quit.
I put out resume after resume. days turned into weeks and weeks into months, I put out more resume's and the seasons of the year changed and still no one was interested. I went through many application process's that were eight pages long. I quit my job with no future employers in mind and after it happened, I was on the outside looking in and wishing somebody or anybody would let me be close enough to a handshake to allow me in on their payroll. It's not pretty. Give it some thought my friend.

Here is my 2 cents.

What is most important is that you're doing what it is you want to do. The opinions of some people on this forum should mean very little to you. The truth is, you will never attain substantial wealth if your trading time for money. If your creating value, you will always be a asset, that is all that matters. I would suggest you take a closer look at what your real talents and passions are. You got skills far reaching beyond just DRIVING A TRUCK (not that there is anything wrong with JUST DRIVING A TRUCK)

When I first started developing content for the internet - youtube i did it to share my passion with my friends and family. (and I always want to be a film maker, which is why I started trucking, to save money for that purpose..) I didn't realize how my story would motivate and change lives. Yours has too my brother, you have no idea how you have impacted so many people, people you don't even know yet. Your inspiring so many people and that is powerful man!

When my first video went viral you tube called me and asked if I would like to be one of their first "partners" I was like okay whatever.... Then I get a check for 1000$ I'm like wow I need to learn more about this. Soon I was making 5k a month. See then Miles didn't mean so much to me. (Eventually that money went away when I was click bombed but I got over it.)

I really focused on film making,content development, web 2.0 programming, seo,meta,internet marketing,video seo (I was using youtube to place in search engines organically in 07 years before people even understood it was possible.) I was killing it. fortune500 companies started calling and being the nice guy I offered advice. Then it dawned on me "I could charge for this" So I started my own internet marketing company to help major corp. learn how not only to use the internet but how to develop social strategy.

The money, whatever...... The most important thing is that your creating value for someone else by sharing your life, and that is worth more then any money in the world. I have lots of stories but this one always stands out:

I had a guy stop me in a truck stop one time, we had coffee and chatted.. He told me that he was dealing drugs, stealing,robbing, etc Living a bad life. He was at a friends house and stumbled onto my videos and at that moment realized if a young dude like me can do this he can too. I thought that was really cool and offered my advice "as he was still with his trainer" we chatted for like 1 hr then parted ways... later that night his grandmother called and left a message on my voice mail to thank me for talking to her baby and she confessed that GOD put me their to help her baby when he was about ready to relapse and get out of the truck and return to a live of slingin cocaine.

I love to drive I only get to do it 4 days a week. Sadly, I have to take my business with me on the road. To be honest I hate talking with clients, I'm still trading time for money (which is a horrible business model) I can't wait to close my business and get back to what is I REALLY LOVE TO DO which is trucking otr and sharing my story!

My dad was a teamster for Yellow I got family at ABF I have a perfect 15 year record No accidents no incidents I have only changed trucking jobs once 7 years ago, I'm fully endorsed TWIC KWHOPPER. ETC a perfect CSA/MVR/DAC I could work anywhere their is not a company that wouldn't hire me based solely on my merits as a professional driver. I would prefer to be OTR. I was built to roam the earth!

Over the years I have passed on many sponsorship opportunities from trucking companies who wanted to put my face on the side of a truck and share "my story" the truth is they want me to share what ever it is their paying me to say. That is the same reason I have passed on so many TV shows. I have passed those opportunities to others who didn't think twice about compromising their integrity.

You got a gift brother to share your story, you inspire them to think and motivate them to talk. Very few have your talent or your integrity. Keep that for sure! Do what you love and you will never go wrong!

 

Grindem. It may not be what you like, but have you tried Chaney? I clear $750.00 a week with 2 days off. But don't tell anybody. Everybody else is expected to work 6 days a week. I go home when i;m done.

 

Most states its 16 for a class B 18 for a class A and 21 to go OTR...

I don't know what A&R's pay scale is like, but we haul plastic where I work and your not going to find a much cleaner/easier job to do as far as trucking and not pullin around drop and hook van's.

My friend hauls liquid sugar and does pretty good pay wise and its also clean work and pretty easy from what he says.
