    I've been given the opportunity to go to UPS and pull 95% terminal to terminal and 99% drop and hook 100% no touch I'd be taking a hit pay wise but with the productivity increase and equipment utilization I think it could be a good move . My current GiG has slowed way down the past few weeks and were now doing a ton of CHR crap freight 44,500 stuff sitting in docks 4-5 hrs last week I sit around 21.5 HRS in 7 in docks alone with only 1900 miles . A company we normally haul to shut down ( out of biz ) a week ago so it's kinda hurt our freight inbound - outbound

    Here are the pay packages :

    Current :
    1.12 base
    0.36 Fuel ( last week )
    0.04 bonus ( paid every 6 months )
    Plates = free
    Scales
    Tolls Fuel discount = none
    Heavy loads ( 42,000-45,000 norm)

    UPS :
    0.90
    0.415 ( fuel last week )
    Plates = free
    Fuel taxes = free ( filed and paid by UPS )
    Fuel discounts = 0.21-0.42 per gallon ( what I been told )
    Tolls
    Scales
    99% drop swap
    95% term to term
    Light freight 18,000-33,000 norm

    Both pay same loaded and empty ... On the fence but my gut tells me UPS for stability and utilization alone ..Just wanted some insight or thoughts about this or INFO on UPS owner operators in general ... My current gig is a small company only bout 65 total trucks ...

    I say Id be taking a pay hit . But thats only if you compare a apples to apples week miles wise. I been told I can avg 2800-3000 at UPS I been doing real good to get 2000 at my current stop. I used to get paid for delay after 2 hrs but now its a fight to get it. so the last week I worked I got $0.00 for all the time i spent in docks or delayed cause of dispatch.

    My wife is 100% on board which is scary ... lol :yes2557: she never agrees with me about anything :biggrin_25512: But she sees that the writing is all but on the wall where we are. Im not saying they are going to go under but stuggles are difentely in my future I think. But I just didnt want to make a crazy hasty jump . but were talking UPS which means tons of STABILITY which is something everyone needs in this economy
