Landstar / EOBR

You'll like logging on elogs a lot better than paper. Saves so much time and eliminates mistakes. Wonder who has the ability to edit, you or someone at Landstar?

 

I basically took that route with my carrier. I pulled my truck in one day about a year and half ago and said "let's not wait, go ahead and put the thing in". I figured with all the crying and whining going on about EOBR's and such, I might as well get some hands on with it and see for myself. Figured that if I didn't like it, I could move my truck somewhere else. Well, I am still there, and I have no desire to go back to paper. And I can edit things, other than the DRIVING line. And when I am not doing anything related to a dispatch or pulling a load, I can run around to get a bite, go home, or whatever on OFF DUTY DRIVING, so nothing goes against the clock.

 

Might as well do it now,since,as you said, we are all going to end up having to anyway.
I run legal as well, so I'm not that worried about it, but some people are going to be suddenly getting alot less miles. That ought to be interesting.......

 

I have never been around these devices, now that you brought it up that was one of my questions; if I just bobtail down to the grocery or truck wash it has provisions for that activity without going against drive time? How does it know the difference? thanks for any help.

since those things are automatically designed to log DRIVING the minute that thing moves.

 

Having driven on paper, then eobr, then back to paper I personally will not go back to an eobr until I have no choice...Maybe it was just the eobr at my last company I didn't like since it had no "line 5" and it was like pulling teeth to get access to my previous logs come income tax time. And eobr really didn't save me that much time on paperwork.

 

It can benefit you against a speeding ticket as well.

Sioux City IA sent me a ticket in the mail for doing 66 in a 55.

I had my company pull the qualcomm records and it showed me doing 56 in a 55 at the same exact location and time stamp as their camera.

When I sent them that paperwork, there were a LOT of happy people in Sioux City as it proved their system was malfunctioning.

 

What happens when you run out of hours AT SHIPPER OR RECEIVER?? Do these devices come with an industrial pail of vaseline?? Everything else in this world is designed to be used and thrown away, no quality anymore, are they trying to make truckers the same??
