Hi everyone,
I have a 3406e Cat in a Pete 379. I have oil coming out of the radiator over flow! I just replaces the oil cooler. Could I have replaced it with another bad oil cooler? What other possibilities could be causing this to happen. My oil temp rises very fast and the oil psi is running around 50 to 60 when I am running down the road at 70. Should I replace the oil cooler again?

did you flush the coolant system really good when you replaced the oil cooler. I don't know of to many other things that could cause this problem unless the block has a crack in the oil system somwhere into the coolant system but its not likely .
-
Did you burping the air from the coolant system? You might have air trapped in there.
-
Like the other guys said, oil in the coolant is hard to clean out after a repair like that and may take a few flushes to get all of it. Flush your cooling system with a good detergent and keep an eye on it.

I ran about 12 gallons of water through it after I put the new oil cooler on. Then I ran it for about an hour to make sure there wasn't oil in the top of the reservior. I made my first trip with it to Lafayette IN from Whitestown and by the time I got up there it was pushing alot of oil out again. This is why I think that I got a bad oil cooler. But another guy told me that it might be a cracked sleeve. I know that the truck has not gotten hot so how could that happen? Should I take it back off and go have it pressure tested to make sure that is it?

a cracked sleeve wont put oil in the water it would be the other way around. was it a new oil cooler? or another used one that you put on. could it be fuel in the rad if so an injector cup is leaking or cracked.
-
Are you low on oil now.
-
I am about a gallon low on oil now.. I never really thought about the cups. I had those replaced about 2 years ago. That is when I had straight fuel coming out of the radiator.

The oil cooler was a reman from young and sons here in Indianapolis
