Absolutely- a current log shows responsibility
A clean truck shows care for the equipment
A clean driver shows a respectful driver

These are all first impression items but do play a part!

I think you made the right decision. Usually, overweight fines get reduced in court anyway. And, there's always the chance of the cop being a no show.

My last 2 tickets were police no-shows. One was for about 450 bucks. The other was about for 7 grand.

The company will pay the overweight. I was over on 4 and 5. Not over grossed. Truck was clean, I was clean, I got pulled in the coop in AR and was weighed and turned loose. MO got me over. Logs; I was current, matter of fact I was so current I was ahead of myself.:yes2557:I was back logged a bit, till he made me draw a line that put me over.:biggrin_25521:

A certain "somebody" got stopped at the port this morning in a state I won't mention because the diesel cop didn't like the way the airbags on the trailer looked. Even though the bags were inflated okay, (they're the new short ones and they don't bounce when you stop on the scale like the old kind, especially with 32,800 on the tandems) the DOT guy still wanted to check EVERYTHING. This "somebody" handed over a perfect piece of crap when asked for his logs, but because they were neatly and logically done and completely up to date (hmm, hmm, lessee here, nope, looks good, yore free to go) the nice policeman handed them back and released the driver, who dutifully recorded 30 minutes of wasted time on line four. See ya, Bruno. You also might remind the guys to keep their medical card handy.

GOOD JOB! Now always keep in mind just because you get over them on the road doesn't mean that log auditor or DOT internal audit guy won't find "EVERYTHING" wrong with them. L.O.L.

I agree about the medical card as we get several drivers busted without them, however I believe that's more un-organization on them drivers.
I will however make a thread about it , right now!
