I'll say I want to lease with our company because I know how their program works, but I'm thinking I'll be a lot better off going to Mercer when I turn 25, since I want to do flatbed. I've wanted nothing more than to own my own truck, but I don't wanna lease a prostar for 3 years to do it lol

The difference between a Lease Driver and a Company Driver is, the Company Driver is making $270/week and has benefits. A Lease Driver is working for $270/week and does not have benefits.....

    I make $800/week without benefits.

My friend thats a lease purchase owner with our company makes a lot more than me on take home. My trainer was also a l/p operator and he turned his truck in for a local job because of his dad having medical issues. Hes hauling gas local 5 days a week in Jacksonville, told me he took home 3x as much as a l/o with roehl. Said if he goes back otr then he's coming back to roehl and leasing again.

I know most lease purchase programs are bad, but not all of them. That's all I'm trying to say. People always bash it.

I wanna do it to own the truck after the lease and turn it in on a kw or long nose Pete. I just don't have the patience to pay on a prostar for 3 or 4 years, id rather save up the money and buy a Pete or kw then lease it on with a good flatbed company.

Bums living under the bridge are even freer... if thats what you're looking for. Nope, company drivers chase miles - I don't. Company drivers take what's dished out to them - I don't.
You should go drive for England... they don't treat their seat meat that poorly!

I dont drive for either but from doing thousands of hours of research on both companies if i was you i would go with prime. I personally hate reefers but wouldnt mind running prime flatbed

I can't comment on FFE - never drove for them. I can tell you that my experience driving for Prime has always been good, and I've always been treated with respect. Do your research before you decide. There are many Prime threads in the folder below - pay attention to what the drivers who post here for both companies have to say. Make sure you look through the "Bad Companies" folder too.

The real benefit of going with Prime is the better training and pay you get during training. I too, looked at FFE and they are okay, but Prime has newer trucks, better pay in training and better miles once you get your own truck. I personally don't care whether I drive a reefer or a tanker or trailer. Too old for flatbed.
Use your own research to help you decide.
