Eh, I could see how that pay is a little sub par.
Cpape, just curious what who would you suggest for dirtydsl to go to work with to do open deck work with 1 year of clean driving experience, I off hand cant think of very many places... -
35cpm plus tarp pay and all the other stuff. Technically I'm supposed to be at 37 by now, but I ran over 70mph a few times last month. So no quarterly raise for me. I'm looking into several companies but my biggest obsticle is my age. Two I want to work for require 25 years of age. I'm thinking of going with lone star out of Texas. Start off at 40-50cpm.
Yup. Its not bad for less than a year of experience I suppose.

Unfortunately I had a backing accident my first week on the job. At my house on my own property. Points were taken off my license and the ticket was adjudicated. No points, just shows up on my record. Other than that I've been clean, so to speak, since '07

I don't do too bad at .43 and if im pulling a tanker its like .38 and I work between 2500 and 3200 miles a week on average, home weekends and a few nights during the week.
Do you have any desire to be home and get decent home time? I guess living in florida makes it a little tougher for ya?DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Yeah, id love to get home more. I wanted to get my tanker endorsement for Indian river.
I would like to be home more most definitely but I'm willing to stay out a few weeks at a time if the monies good ya know

Currently, I think Maverick and Melton are probably the best of the large companies. Because Dirty lives in Florida, I am not sure what his options are. Maverick seems to do good job of getting drivers home, where Melton keeps them out for a while. TMC may work with someone in Florida because of the large amount of building materials they haul. With some experience, I would expect to make in the vicinity of .45/mi. The only questions is if they hire out of Florida.

On their hiring map I'm out of their area but I've spoke with a few drivers who are from Jacksonville. TMC also says I gotta be 23 on the website but a driver told me they'll make an exception if you have experience. I was thinking of lonestar mainly because of talking to a few drivers on here.
I stay out 20-25 days because its hard getting home. Like today I was in Louisiana and I'll be taking a load up to Wisconsin but half way there I'm supposed to trade loads with a driver going to Florida. So I'm hopeful. I'm supposed to be home Thursday

Maverick or TMC. Hear a lot of good things from them drivers.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
my freind and father in law work for a local food grade hauler and they haul liquid sugar and corn syrup in tankers and they love their job.
DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
