It's hard to beat terminal to terminal drop and hook. We do a lot of unpaid work in this business that drivers have just come to accept and expect. While your rate will drop, your mileage should be dead on a term-term gig. That right there could equal out the rate loss depending on the way both companies route you. If you're looking consistency and stability, it's a no-brainer to go to UPS. The POTENTIAL to earn more on percentage is there though if you pull platform, but that is a lot more work and lost time waiting. Good luck, and even though I pull step on percentage at LS, I don't think it's a bad choice.

I've talked to a few owner Opps on the phone and what I been told is you may loose 10-15 miles on one run but gain 20 miles on the next run and brake dead even on most . Almost paid off the hub even though your not of course . But your right these runs have been ran so many times that they got it down to a science ..

My Gut just says UPS and I'm going with the gut on this one ..
The grass may seem greener on the other side sometimes but what some forget to tell you is you have to :
Airrate it , Seed it , Fertilize it , Mow it , Rake it , Weed eat it , and most importantly WATER IT ..

I hope I'm not gonna eat my words but I'm gonna hire a LAWN COMPANY - to keep my GRASS GREEN for me .. UPS ..

the escrow at mercer is 350, the trailer payment includes the 100 escrow on the trailer which at the end of the lease covers the ballon. but wasnt it nice to talk to a straight shooter and not a bullcrap artist

Well folks I decided 150% to saddle up and tie my horse at UPS .. My truck is in the shop with a wiring issue but should get it back tomorrow or Friday will start UPS either Friday or Tuesday depending on when my truck gets out of shop ..

Ill keep you posted with a thread in the Trucking Company section on the board .
Thank you for all the insight that I received on this thread

In conclusion I will also tell people that Mercer is a great company to talk to I can't say much more than that because I never have worked there but they shot me completely strait ..

But it's UPS for me right now !!!

Ghanks again for reading and helping out

You hit the nail on the head with "Stability". From what I've read on your posts, I am ASSuming that things have been slow at your current gig & do not look like they're going to get better anytime soon.

With UPS you will have that "Stability" that you are searching for. Also with the lighter loads giving you better fuel economy I would go for it with UPS if I were in your shoes.

Good luck to you what ever direction you decide to go in.
