I am currently attending NETTTS. Overall, it's a decent school. They even offer financial aid. For this you have to take a 22 week extended course which has you inside for 12 weeks learning all about truck driving from a book point of view. This does however teach you how to plot and plan your routes using an atlas. Too many young people just getting their licenses think they are going to be fine using a trucker GPS. They won't be too enthused when they get pulled over by DOT for being on a restricted route that the GPS said was fine OR take the top of their trailer off on a low bridge. The Bridgeport campus unfortunately have terrible trucks. Your left leg WILL go into spasms when you first try to hold that clutch in while learning a new maneuver. There is also a large teacher turnover. If you have any more questions, just ask.

But it's not CR England Driving School. -
I was looking at them as well as All State down in Shelton and All State appeared a little better, more 1-1 time and for a little less money then NETTS
-
That sucks to hear that about the Bridgeport campus. As for All State...they closed up shop a few months ago.

Hi, Merrick
Hey, if you don't mind my asking.....what's the tuition for NETTS? -
If you pay up from it can range from $2600 to $4000, depending on which license you are going for. If you opt for the financial aid, you will have to pay a nominal "fee" up front, usually around $20, although the more you pay, the more is taken off of your total financial aid that you have to pay back. You can apply for grants and loans, which will pay for most of your $9500 course fee. Of this, most people usually have to come out of pocket for about $540.
-
So, if I want to pay in full on my own.....cash, it's $9500?
Thanks man -
No, if you get financial aid it's $9500 and a 22 week long course. If you pay cash it's between $2600 to $4000 and between 8 - 10 weeks.
Puppage Thanks this. -
Phew! That's a lot better. Thanks man. I appreciate it.

You may want to look into what the different courses offer. It sounds like what they do here in NY at NTTS. There are shorter courses, but they don't go into all the trip planning, load securment, and other "behind the scenes" stuff that you get in the longer courses. The 7 and 10 week courses also don't get as much seat time as you do with the longer courses.
We had one guy do the 7 week course and he just failed his 4th try at his DMV road test last week. He started with my 18 week class and told us that he now wishes he'd stayed for the longer course. Just putting it out there, best of luck.Puppage and jeepnut_nh Thank this.
