Has anyone installed a Bullydog Turbo, in an ISX, and comment on performance and reliability.
I have the PDI B-W and it is a POS, takes all day to spool and maxes out at 22lbs pf bpost. Fuel mileage is down by 3/4 to 1mpg. I'm thinking of swapping it out for a Bullydog but would appreciate some real world feedback.

What is your engines Hp rating? If it is below 550 Hp and you have the bigger of the Stage 1 turbos for the ISX it wil be lazy. If you have the smaller of the turbos than you have another problem with the engine. PDI had two different Stage 1 turbos for the ISX depending on your engine HP rating. I think you have the wrong turbo for your application.

Also the BullyDog turbo is a Chinese copy of the BorgWarner parts used by PDI. They have a tendency to fail earlier due to the fact they aren't the quality of the BW parts.

Engine was factory 485hp, but bumped to 550hp after EGR/DPF delete. I'm fairly sure this turbo is the smaller one. It is going back in on Thursday, they think a new software tune will do it. I'm not so sure, it feels to me, driving, that it just isn't big enough for the job, especially with only 22lbs of boost. max. It takes so long to spool that when fully loaded, it can take me up to 1 mile to reach 60mph, and God help me if the ramp has a slight grade. Find that I have to take the motor up to 1700rpm to get any sort of pull out of it.

Thanks for that info. I thought I'd heard that before but couldn't find it doing a search. Appreciated.

One thing I have noted is that on cooler mornings the turbo seems to pull and hold slightly better than when the temp is above 85*. Would that indicate a problem with the CAC????? I'm no mechanic, just a guess.

22psi threw a big turbo is different then 22psi threw small turbo. Your moving more volume of air three threw the bigger one then the smaller one.

Air density is higher at colder temperatures and this will raise boost slightly
