You need E-track or put 4 D rings in the floor, blocking isn't safe. Plus, if you get stopped and it's not secured right, is it worth a bunch of points on your CSA score becuse you tried to get by cheap? Or if you have to panic stop and it moves and damages the vehicle AND trailer. Plus, you'll have to have $1,000,000 liabilty to transport a vehicle.

Its his OWN vehicle that he wants to TRANSPORT in his own reefer trailer , so INSURANCE should not be an ISSUE.

How much swinging beef do you guys think I can stack on my lowboy? Just kidding of course, but you have to admit the car in a reefer did make me do a double take.

I am curious though, I realize that it is your car, but how is customs going to look at this?

Likely no different than pulling it behind a motorhome on a towbar

Just make sure your passengers are wearing their seatbelt. And the ones in trunk better quiet when customs is looking

Ahh, shouldn't be a big problem. Just make sure you have a lot of dunage tight against it. You know, like an F-150 in front, and an Escape in back.:biggrin_25523:

You could utilize the 4 drain holes and about 150' of chain! Maybe bolt some heavy duty eye hooks in each one or drop the bare chain through the holes and secure them. You would need a couple binders.

Either that or about 40 load locks! jk :)

I would think it would be hard getting across the border. In the states you could probably sneak it. I once bought a Jacuzzi on my way home.

Insurance is an issue. Your cargo insurance probably has an "owned" cargo exemption. Meaning that you will not be issued a check from your insurance company.
However if you do want to do it, you can find friction locks that mountain climbers use. They are (not DOT) rated at 1500 pounds and will do the trick but it is an OOS if you get busted.
They fit very well into the gaps in the floor, they cost about $60 each and wont come loose. You will find that you can use them for lots of things.

Get some duct tape and tape it to the floor ! ( crap will hold anything)

But seriously, the friction locks are a good idea. So are blocking with the pallets. I've hauled more than my share of forklifts that way.
