You could also give him your index finger, right eye or stool sample.

Easy. We have a run that is 623 miles on the hub. About 110 miles was on two lane road the rest interstate. We could log 623 miles with a 60 mph average easy in a 11 hour period. We could get to the reciever at around 10 pm park on the plant unload at 7am which would take about 1.5 hours to pump off. Your 10 hour break was complete. and you could dead head back to the yard and make it back in 10 hours. This was a dedicated load. Now you have to take a 10 hour break 25 miles from reciever and another about 25 miles from the home terminal. and the pay is the same.
This is just one example. Another is running the east coast, anyone knows parking is a premium and most of the time we could legally make it to a reciever and park on their yard. now you can't. Pay is the same but your working longer. It's a no brainer. If you cant turn 600+ miles a day your losing money. Unless the company is going to pay more, don't hold your breath.
The Electric log measures the actual speed of the truck. If you get hung up in traffic your screwed.
And besides, I do not need a computer to tell me when to take a break. Why should I be punished for taking a 45 min nap in the middle of the day? If I'm tired I will stop.
