Had my first of many mistakes the other day on my first official load as a solo driver. Pulled into my pick up location and got told to pick up in door 17. I started counting the doors 1 2 3 4 etc. and came across to what I believed was door 17. Grabbed the trailer pulled out and made the cardinal mistake of not checking the trailer. Turns out I picked up at the wrong door (luckily it was just an empty). Long story short had to pull out come back drop that trailer in the back pick up my trailer and lost about 2.5 hours and found myself shutting down a lot later then I wanted to. Well I learned my lesson and I can gurantee this will not happen again.
snowman01 Thanks this. -
FtBaltimore with hazmat got confused, all hazmat mist exit. Oops I ended up downtown middle of the day, nobody spoke. English. The officers standing in front of the police station wouldn't help as I was yelling to them out the window. I just kept following the only way that had no "no truck" signs. No ticket, and found our way back out.
Pulled the wrong trailer out of the yard once over 100 miles before I looked at the suspension gauge and realized something was wrong.
There might be a story concerning missing a turn and turning around in a big grassy yard/field next to several mobile homes in WV around 3 a.m. however I know NOTHING about this Trucker tale! By the way the tale goes the sign for the road was gone when the trucker for back from the dead end. The pole was there but no sign. The trucker may have had cash in case anyone woke up, but according to the trucker it was 3 a.m. Saturday morning in WV so they inhabitants were most likely pasted out. Oh and the story goes that the trucker had GPS, but it was having a fit at the moment he/she was supposed to turn. Lesson here per the trucker dead ends suck, and technology will fail you when you need it most!
Oh the stories I could tell on my wife: Washington DC, dairy queen, Newark, over hooking but I will behave. -

Considering that I'm still a newb, I let being tired and compounding my truck mechanical issues first before using my goalie(get out and look its easy) in the process my trailer swing scraped a trucks fender........yes I did that. Don't let fatigue and other problems fog your judgement.
