At my company every trailer is spec'd the same for the most part, 2 lumber tarps, 2 16x27, 1 16x16 and 12 winches with straps, 10 chains and binders, 8 or so timbers, usually each trailer has J hooks, coil racks, and edge protection but I keep some in my tractor incase there's not enough on the trailer.
When we relay loads or drop them at the yard, they are left secured and tarped for the next driver, any discrepancies with securement or tarping would go straight to safety dept. and we have had a meeting where all drivers were shown what was to be expected with load securement and tarping.
I'm a flatbedder!

It depends on the company. Ours is very good about that kinda stuff. If you have a problem with the condition the trailer was left in, the tarp job or the securement then our company wants to hear about it and they DO something about it. I still Think I would prefer keeping the same trailer. Eventually I'm hoping to buy my own, but they won't get this trailer back unless they haqve an amazing trailer to replace it with. Got a bulkhead with rack for chains and such, 2 dunnage racks, and a tarp box. Its one of the nicer crst lease trailers I have seen.
Another goal I am hoping to accomplish is to get/install dump valves for the trailer. Parking a loaded spread without a dump axle kinda sucks if you don't have a straight back. But that will probably have to wait until I own my truck and can buy a trailer.CAXPT and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -

that should be standard equipment for spread axle trailers. cuz them right front tires get eaten to crap.CAXPT Thanks this. -
East trailers used to void a warranty if a dump valve was installed on the trailer for the back axle. I very rarely use mine.
They are nice to have but can do more damage than good if not used correctly. Gravdgr should have a Reitnour and they usually come with one.CAXPT and DrtyDiesel Thank this. -

have any of you guys in fl. checked out cypress or fl.rocks flatbed division.(sunbelt)?i used to drive for them back 10yrs ago.they were both ok.i liked sunbelt better for the better equiptment and non favortism to the rookies.@ cypress if you were new on the scene,you got the royal treatment.if you were experienced,you got the worst truck,worst of everything.their ideas were backwards.we had to prove ourselves in the junk to get a good sled.anyway,they were ok to work for and was home every weeekend. ethan if you need that long hood ....youll get it.whenn you do get your own,check out mercer or landstar.the only two i know of that has true fredom to control your own business.i wish i could turn the clock back 15yrs.i would have went straight to landstar when i bought that fld.

I have a great dane and it does have what looks like a manual dump valve for the front axle (lease that's all the mechanic and I could figure it was) and an electric dump valve for the rear axle, but the trucks are not wired for a dump valve and I don't know how, or even if I'm allowed, to wire up a dump valve switch in the truck.

I hear ya, I will consider Mercer but I have to be 25 years old, on certain situations they will accept 23 and 24 year olds. -
I put an electric dump on my rear axle a few months ago. Best thing we ever did. Seeing considerably less tire wear and it has saved my butt a few times in a tight situation.
I also installed a manual dump that dumps both axles.
