Where do you park that the parking lot is nearly 30 miles long??? 1mph X 30min = 30 miles Better to take a little time rolling thru the parking lot than to speed thru and possibly injure someone. In granny gear even if you bump them you won't kill them!!

Very sad indeed!, this article doesnt meantion that the deceased was servered in half, just deceased, Is it possible? Yes, I have seen photos of accidents where this has happened, but OMG, how tarrible for this to happen, I have seen far to many so-called drivers, grabbing gears in the parking lots, and cant understrand why?, About 3 weeks ago I was at the TA in denver, and If I wasnt paying attention you might have been reading this about me!,I had to nearly jump out of the speeding truck way in the parking lot, to keep from getting run over, The driver never stopped, just kept going, The driver was in a Knight Trans. truck, Phone in one hand looking at the floor, Hope he wont be driving for long

There's no call to be in the high side of the tranny while running through a lot. I remember the days of "low and slow" being the cool thing. Now it seems to be "mash the gas!"

It's not just rookies doing it either. Some of the more experienced drivers have also done this. I will actually yell at them to slow down, or I will give them an ear full if I am sitting in my truck. Sometimes, I will call out on the CB how fast I think a certain truck is going. I've actually had other drivers get involved with the "game" and suddenly the game is not fun anymore because people don't want to be pointed out as being a dumb## and they slow down.

Ok, OK, LOL, even so, 30 min to cross a truck stop parking lot???? Still, I say it's better than injuring or killing someone. Is that 30 min of your time worth someone's life???

I didn't get to be 62 by not paying attention to stupid rookies and super truckers with attitudes driving like dumb a s s es through a parking lot. It's sad that some guy got killed by a dumb and stupid truck driver who was in so much of a hurry that he didn't take the speed limit into account. Poor planning on your part, doesn't constitute an emergency on mine.

I will avoid committing myself with a libel statement but I can assure you that if that same driver was coming at me, he'd be on his way to the morgue too.
