I don't care where you learn to drive, all I know is that anyone who goes for driver training through a company sponsored program is hardly ready to drive. If the DOT were to go to any of the trucking companies and evaluate the training of the drivers coming out of them, they would shut down most, if not all of the company sponsored driving schools.

They are ALL rip offs in my 'humble' but expletive opinion.

My trainer would get the truck going on the highway set the cruise at 52 stand up and tell me to take the wheel and I would hold the steering wheel down the road while he slept or played on his laptop in his bunk. This was at prime so take it for what it's worth.

There are many reasons a driver could go thru company sponsored driving schools. Some been of the road for a long time, and some just need to go thru training again.

On a highway cruise set to 52 to take the wheel. Do Prime really have a trainer like this? And why would you take the steering wheel at 52mph?

Well when he stood up and told me to take the wheel I took it. Not gonna argue with him in a sitituation like that. Just check around the forums online a lot of things like this go on.

Wow im not here for a challenge, why would you want to compare me and you. Because you only see I have 3 years of experience right. I never spoke on how the type of driver Iam and never spoke on how good of a driver Iam compared to others. All I really said was I think I have enough experience to train new drivers. I still have more to learn on being a truck driver. Im interested in Prime for a reason. If you think they are a bad company thats you. I think I could be a success here at this company and would do good with them.

Did you tell your fm about this? This was a unsafe thing for you to do. He could had pulled over to the side of the road to let you drive

He didn't feel I was ready to shift the truck yet tho, and didn't have the money to buy a new clutch if I messed it up. Same reason I wasn't allowed to use the service brakes when going down the side of a mountain. Who cares what they say about using the brakes to slow the truck down the jake brake works just as good and my instructor won't have to buy new brake pads.
and no I didn't have a fm to tell, well at least at the time I didn't think I did.
