That is incorrect. You will be able to team with your friend right off the bat. The actual training period is only 2-3 weeks. I am a trainer for them.

Oh great the recruiter made it seam like you have to get your hazmats or you will not get that many loads is this true I really don't want the hassle, I understand you might pull a load our of Clorox or a load of batteries something like that but is it really necessary right now
-
You don't have to have your hazmat. Alot of guys don't. It sure doesn't hurt to be a hazmat team but still not required. We don't even pull that much hazmat. We have literally gotten ONE hazmat load in 2 months. You will still get the miles without hazmat. I really only got my hazmat because it would make me more employable and the couple extra cents per mile would be nice.robthomas Thanks this. -
Sorry to be so blunt but only a fool would not get their hazmat. More pay and less sitting. With hazmat you can run Fedex loads, which are easy and good miles. Very little actual hazmat pulling like Adkhunter said.
robthomas Thanks this. -
UMM interesting well when you put it like that maybe I will reconsider and tell my friend to do the same we are going in together as a team
-
No. Don't have to get haz, but pay is .004 less per mile
-
You mean 4 cpm MORE right? Not less lol. That's for a team at least. 2 cpm each guy making it a total of 4 cpm. And BOTH of you have to have it to get hazmat pay at all. If one of you has it but the other doesn't than you will NOT even get 2 cpm more.
Rob it really is a good idea to get it. It's not all that hard and it could mean the difference between sitting for a hour to sitting for 3 days waiting for a load if you get out west into a remote city with not alot of freight coming out of it Ex. Salt lake city lol -
Forget the sitting or not with Hazmat. If you average 5000 miles a week, and that is pretty easy, you will get paid an additional 02 a mile on every mile whether hazmat or not. That is 400 dollars each extra pay per month or 4,800 extra a year. Kind of makes the hazmat a no brainer. Plus you can then pull Fedex, the best runs we have.
-
We haven't added our hazmats yet and still have pulled loads for Fedex...
Where are you guys at, Craig? -
Just finishing a live unload in Anaheim CA, where are you guys?
