    Howdy,

I was wondering how hard it is becoming to find parts for a CAT 3406 A-C?
A Mechanic once told me that it's really hard to find parts for the A motors.
    Thanks!

I have a 3406E and I haven't had any problems getting the few parts I have needed.

That's good to know about the E engines. The 3406 E is still in production though(as far as I know anyway).
What about the 3406A and 3406B engines? Has anyone had any experience rebuilding these earlier models?

I have not had any trouble finding parts for my B model ZJXander. Just put on a new BW turbo & replaced all the exhaust studs/gaskets last winter. Rolled new rod bearings in a while back,i think it's been a year and a half or so. Don't know much about the A model myself.

there are millions of these engines still in service , from trucks, yachts, construction equipment, generators and many other uses.

there will be parts available for longer than you can imagine

Yeah I'm pretty sure, and could be wrong, but the B is still in production today. As for the A's, well, the best thing that happened to them was the B, to put them out of their misery! I don't seem to have problems finding rebuild parts.

    ZJXander Thanks this.
