When I was there (last in Aug 2011) all the new trucks coming in (ProStar) had 10 speeds.

There are still PLENTY of Auto Shift in the fleet however. So chances are pretty good you'll get an Auto.

I hope they are a better fit for you. I don't have a lot of fond memories of my 18 months with them.

They still have some Auto's out there and some drivers love them. I have a love/hate relationship with mine. All newer trucks have 10 speed trannys but I am going to be sticking with my auto until the wheels literally fall off. No major problems except a burnt out injector harness, after that was replaced she has been purring.

There's a lot of the autos being retired in Irving. Every new truck coming into the fleet is a 10 speed manual transmission. There's a lot fewer auto transmissions in the current fleet.

THANK GOD there getting rid of them!!! I start C1 on the 20th and was dreding training in a 10 speed and then having to drive a auto for a year. I have heard bad things about them from some friends and these guys have been doing the job for 10+ years. Plus part of being a trucker (to me at least) is driving a 10-13 speed.

Irish, don't knock it untill you have tried it.
The stage you are at,it is better not to make statements like that.
First learn, with an open mind, then you can analyse and make a TRUE statement.:yes2557:

Dont worry to much about it. Once you learn you never forget. I learned to drive a 10 speed back in 07 only drove a month otr with it and came back years later and went straight to a auto and finally switched back to a 10 speed this year. It only took a week to get back into the groove of it.
