I'm with Les on this, I've never dealt with the 346 but I think the most obvious differance is the 346 has 3 fastening points while the 349 has 4 fastening points.
-
I thought you had to be rolling in gear for the jake to work. Don't think just revving engine will activate it.
-
It will, remember it's a mechanical motor. If the oil pressure is high enough at idling it will activate.
-
it wont activate in gear, rolling, stopped, idle at all...
-
I've never messed with the 346 but I would check adjustment before getting to far into it.
-
does anyone know adjustment specs for these jakes?
-
Puncher gave you the specs .067". I you dont trust it, you can adjust it while it's running. Turn the adjusting screw while it's running, untill it starts to grab, turn it a 1/4 of a turn back, that's the way whe do it on the old Cummins'
puncher Thanks this. -
it doesnt look like theres much space to adjust them under the jake housings i could be wrong tho.
let me see what i do. any other input would be great on adjusting these myself/ -
You don't adjust them under the housing, look on top of the housing and you'll find six 9/16 nuts with a slotted stud, follow the instructions given earlier and you'll be fine.
flc120 Thanks this.
