Invest in an apu unit asap or a truck with a battery hvac unit found in a pro-star. Get screens for your driver/passanger windows. Shut the truck off asap at shprs and cons.

if they still have their Indy yard, the mechanics there were a little more laid back. I got written up at DSM for an unauthorized snow shovel and that was the final straw in my decision to quit. I unstrapped the snow shovel from my headache rack (it fit quite nicely underneath) set it on my flatbed which was dropped in front of the hotel and bobtailed across the street to the shop to get my truck reinspected. drover right back across the street and strapped it back in place. once it passed inspection, for some reason it still showed up as a bad truck inspection and after I left the terminal which is a mortal sin in TMC land. management was after my fleet manager wanting to know why his driver left with a bad truck inspection. I said is this seriously my adult, big boy job, where I am getting phone calls and trying to help my fleet manager navigate different levels of corporate BS over a f@cking snow shovel, which by the way was required to do my job, and I could barely afford to buy with what little money I made there?
I don't know how anyone tolerates their corporate culture for very long. -
I can understand the trucking industry a game of puppet master....where one guy on one end has your patience in his hand...I believe the loads should be computerized and FM should be your supervisor not dispatch then fleet manager or whatever, like your FM should be you wingman...own personal counselor LOL a computer couldn't say #### to you hell give it a AI so you could make conversation -
I understand this all completely....a snow shovel sounds like a fair game for a driver I mean it's good to help out the company with minor road repairs if you can help them out of their way, then the same goes for shoveling snow around your tires, your helping you helping their money get made for them...leave the drivers snow shovel alone.. -
