That's govt and union thinking for you. With my truck(s) you can walk around, look ask questions and swamp before I ever let you have the keys to my HH truck. For my own piece of mind and that of my insurance companies unless I have worked with you, know you or where you worked previous the only butt in the seat of that truck will be mine.
No customer wants a greenhorn pulling into the yard with no clue. I load stuff out in the bush as well, nobody around for miles. You get a reputation for knowing your stuff and doing the job properly you get calls for more work, you send somebody green and there is a problem, they lose your phone number real quick.

I have trained guys and they are working at Mammoet or Cara Dawn doing really well.
I think HH should be an apprenticeship. ATS out of St.Cloud MN has the right idea. You start off with Mechanical RGN's and 5 axle and slowly work your way up. Dispatch can not put you on a load your not cleared for,no matter how much they need the load moved.
    Just my .02 worth
